Can't help but chuckle at the way this show leaves people hanging. Having said that, I'm with some of you here. It certainly is doing a great job of making us hate it at the same time, doesn't it?
Gotta disagree though with at least 1 post. It seems to me that Jacob's the good guy, and the other guy, now manifesting as Locke, is the bad one. Jacob may have been responsible for bringing people to the Island, but I don't believe he wanted any of them harmed. The first scene where Jacob and the unidentified man in black had a conversation about how the latter wanted so badly to kill him, his need for a loophole is a big key to understanding the entire show. It's the new Locke who incites Ben to kill Jacob. He simply used Ben and Locke to carry out his plan.
The only thing I'm left wondering about is where does it leave the Dharma folk, the Oceanic folk, and the Others fall in this scheme.

I still hate that they went to the shorter seasons and we have to wait till next Jan. or Feb. to see the aftermath of the bomb going off. Don't they realize that some fans could die before then and not for waiting for the show. I mean there might be some terminally ill fans who will never know and who might have made it to the fall. In my opinion it is just not the way a show should do things. I really like the show and I have continued to watch but I would have quite watching many other shows because of this total disreguard of the fans.

I'm not quite sure how to feel about this. In my opinion, Lost has really gone downhill in the past two seasons, especially this season. With all of the time travel, and the flashbacks and flash forwards, it's gotten increasingly ridiculous and confusing. In past seasons the show was a must-see for me. Even last season, I never missed an episode. However, this season hasn't been the same. I've tried to watch every episode, but I've missed quite a few of them. In past seasons, I would've been upset by that, but not this season. This season, with the ridiculous story lines, missing an episode doesn't seem to matter to me.
However, having said all that, the season finale was exceptional. Finding out that Locke isn't really Locke, finally meeting Jacob and Juliet setting off the bomb. And, what a cliffhanger it was. Even though I didn't enjoy this season, now I'm excited for next season, the final season, to see what happens. I'm actually excited to see how it all will end, and now all of the questions will be answered.
I'm glad that next season will be the final season. I don't like it when shows overstayed their welcome. And Lost is getting to that point, so I'm glad they're ending up next season. However, I will kind of miss it.
