It is really an adventure taking a road trip. One should select the smallest bag possible to carry the items you need for your trip. if you are going to be doing a lot of walking consider using a large backpack.
It is best to pack clothes tightly into small plastic bags. Shoes should be placed facing each other heel to toe and wrapped in a separate bag.
Wrapped clothes should be placed at the bottom of your bag or suitcase, place an empty bag for future laundry. Medicine, first aid supplies should be placed in one bag or compartment. And tioletries in another. That should make your road travel comfortable.

I always take a backpack on a long trip and sometimes for a short trip I take a small soft holdall bag. I wear my pair of shoes and don't pack a second pair. I put clothes in the bottom of my backpack and then have my wash kit in the top. I take a few snacks to eat. In my handbag I pack things like my camera and my sunglasses. Taking first aid supplies is a good suggestion. On one trip I needed to buy some plasters to cover a blister.

Hi willy6 I really agree with you.Generally I travel a lot. After finish every semister of mine I pack my bag, for make a journey.
I take one bag loaded with one pant one shirt and one pair of extra shoes. I know it sounds little bit strange. But I really like traveling in this way.
Oh I take lots of dry food like nuts and some water purifying tablet. I think It is important to watch the place while you are traveling, rather then eating food and take rest.
