i mean a lot of fibromyalgia symptoms are "flu like" and heck i have been sick on and off with all the symptoms of h1n1 or swine flu but realized i didnt have it because it was just my fibro! so if you have fibro how would you know if you have h1n1 or swine flu? i mean i would think that h1n1/swine flu would feel worse but heck some days fibro feels like death! am i the only one wondering about this?? lol

The major symptom of fibromyalgia is pain. Most people feel the pain of fibromyalgia as aching, stiffness, and tenderness around joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Pain may appear in one or more locations at the same time and also in many different parts of your body. The pain is located within the muscles themselves, as well as at the points where ligaments attach muscles to bones. Those with fibromyalgia feel extreme tenderness over many of these locations. These sites of tenderness are called tender points (sometimes referred to as trigger points) .The location of tender points is similar in all people with fibromyalgia and are, therefore, an important part of the diagnosis. The most distinctive feature of fibromyalgia, however, is the existence of certain "tender points" - nine pairs of specific spots where the muscles are abnormally tender to the touch. Swine Flu Symptoms according to the CDC, like seasonal flu, symptoms of swine flu infections can include: fever, which is usually high, but unlike seasonal flu, is sometimes absent cough runny nose or stuffy nose sore throat body aches headache chills fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme diarrhea and vomiting, sometimes, but more commonly seen than with seasonal flu Signs of a more serious swine flu infection might include pneumonia and respiratory failure. Serious Swine Flu Symptoms are more serious symptoms that would indicate that a child/person with swine flu would need urgent medical attention include: Fast breathing or trouble breathing Bluish or gray skin color Not drinking enough fluids Severe or persistent vomiting Not waking up or not interacting Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough This is the distinct difference between these conditions. Fibromyalgia has also been certified has a Chronic Pain Syndrome, and at times it feels like the worse type of pain a person can experience. I have Chronic Fibromyalgia and it sucks BIG TIME. I have good days and then I have them real bad days.

i know i have had fibro all my life and a lot of the times in the past (before i got diagnoised) i thought i was coming down with the flu when it was really a flare up (didnt know what it was so i just assumed flu since i never had heard of fibro before) i know i have asthma and other health problems with fibro so even on a good day i will still have the headaches, coughing, stuffy nose, body aches, fatigue, feverish or chills feeling, etc so since i always have something like that going on and flare ups make things of course worse then im wondering if i would be able to tell much difference if i did get it since i was already bedridden a year with a flare up in the past grr!!
