I was looking at my officemate putting on make up on her face and she looks good in it..i personally do not often put on make up because i do not think it looks good in me...i feel like i am seeing a new person and i don't think i really good in it! Honestly, it looks bad or maybe it is due to the fact that i do not know how to put on make up.lol
How about you? do you know how to put it on? how much do you put on? i usually just uses a blush on and lipstick..coz when i put on a liner, i look like i am old! lol any tips?

Sometimes it's worth just springing for a one time lesson for a professional. You can tell them you want a natural look, just to enhance, not to look drastically different. My mom got me a lesson on how to do make-up for my 16th birthday so I wouldn't run around town looking like a clown and it was information I have taken with me through life. It will make you feel more comfortable, maybe even like wearing make-up.

My mom just had the Mary Kay lady come over to the house. I think they do that for pretty cheap or even free since they want you to buy their products. You could try Avon too, or go to the mall and check out the places in the department stores, but their products and services cost more. Good luck!

I think it depends on how you put on makeup. If you don't know how to put on makeup, then it really will not look good on you. I believe makeup should be used to enhance our natural beauty.
If you have nice lips, then you can enhance your pretty lips by putting on a nice shade of lipstick (one that's right for your skin tone) or a swipe of lip gloss will suffice. If you have beautiful eyes, it's great to put on eyeshadow that will play up those pretty peepers.
You can go to department stores which sells makeups and get a free makeover and salesladies will gladly help you out. They will tell you which will look good on you and which ones to skip. You may also research online or browse a magazine. And remember: "Practice makes perfect", so I advice you to keep practicing putting on makeup so you will eventually get the hang of it. Also, less is more so don't put on too much. You're not going trick or treating, right?

I think it best for you to visit a makeup artist or a saleslady who works for a cosmetic brand. The only way to be sure if you can trust this girl with makeup advice is if she gives you a makeover and you like the result. You can also search the internet. I know that there are two types of skin tones: Warm or Cold. Research on that and see which complexion is yours. And that will be your basis for choosing the right makeup. Goodluck!

i prefer not to put make up on because i got used to going on field work and we go to far flung areas to visit poor communities, that i don't feel comfortable if i'm wearing make-up when people around me are having a hard time making ends meet and make-up is the least of their priorities in life.
i was also brought up not being able to afford it myself so i think i got used to not wearing any, even if i can afford to now. however, i do make an effort when i'm attending important corporate meetings and social functions. but for everyday use, i just sometimes have a bit of hypoallergenic baby powder and i'm done. i guess i blush a lot and my lips are always red that sometimes i feel like i'm already wearing some make-up on.
if you feel more comfortable wearing something light, then let it be. i think you'd feel more beautiful when you are comfortable on how you look, with or without make-up. :)

I don't put on makeup because I don't have time to put on makeup. lol. But kidding aside, I don't put on makeup because just like you, it doesn't look good on me. I feel as if my face looks dry, then oily. And my lips chap even worse. hehe. Well, the natural look is always in. hehe.

Many woman have a natural beauty and do not need cosmetics. However if you want to and have a daughter perhaps? I did not know squat on using cosmetics until a few years ago I had my teenage daughter teach me. now I sell Avon cosmetics and am my best customer! I don't use it everyday as I don't want to break out. I use it all. I like to match my colors to what I am wearing that day. Although I can't get the hang of doing blues yet.

I love putting makeup on. But I am not one of those people who can't step out of the house without it. I enjoy matching my eyeshadows with what I wear, but I don't put on a ton of makeup on either.
A tip for you since you don't wear much, is to keep it simple. Since you already do blush and lipstick, I would just add some mascara. Then Later you can try a neutral color eyeshadow if your feeling a bit adventurous. I personally don't wear lipsticks, I like like lip gloss or chapstick. I like to focus more on my eyes

If the makeup doesn't feel right on you, then you are probably making it look to loud. Like you said, you want to look natural, then get colors that are neutral. Also, if you are going to use eye liners of mascara, buy them in colors that match your eyelashes and hair. Like don't buy black mascara if you have light brown hair.
If all this doesn't work, then don't even bother, You are probably just one of those girls who has natural beauty and just don't need anything else. My sister is like that. She has such smooth skin and when I found out she was wearing foundation on her face, I was so upset! She doesn't need it! She would put only eye makeup on before, and that was good enough.

I've been wearing makeup since I was 12 yrs old let me say this much thats a long time since I am going to be 30 (gulp) in December. I never was taught how to put it on right so I never wore that much. A few years ago I started wearing eye liner and mascara and now a days if I am going to be out at work I will still wear it. I love wearing it. But my skin latelly is more flakey so sadly I dont really wear much makeup but the eyes. I was never for lipstick kinda stuff always chapstick. So although I am sure I looked great in makeup I wear little but lotion to keep the flakes away. Its the water where I have lived for almost 2 yrs no fun. So I guess some people know how to do it, and some look great. Wear what looks natural in the end that is the point of makeup. To look good but look natural too like you arent wearing it at all. See what I mean?

Hi, jazel, hope you are keeping well. I am a man so the question of make up doesn`t arise at all. However in my opinion if you are not comfortable putting on makeup then don`t do it. To tell you the truth real beauty lies in the natural look.Make up may enhance it but if you see people who put makeup and then without it you will find how haggard they look and their skin looks dark and unnatural. Minimum makeup will look help you but personally don`t worry too much about your looks. Your boyfriend will love you whether you put it on or not and remember beauty is skin deep.the best way to preserve natural beauty is to wash ones face regularly with water, drink plenty of milk with honey and of course keep a positive attitude, keep smiling always and see how your natural beauty will make you very attractive. lol.

hmm maybe you could seek differnet color of the make like eyeshadow and eyeliner, try on different one, see which ones suits you the best, when I first do make up, I thought I was beautiful... haha because I didn't think I would look good in make up but I ended up trying and it came out pretty good, need to seek for the right color for ourselves though, otherwise, it would be a disaster to have strange, unmatyche colors on the face! :-p

Now in those days days, fashion ask natural make up.
So, not to much make up...just to corectt something, show what you have intersting on your face, eyes, or lips, maybe to cover some inperfection on your face.
A blond woman need some maskara, or a brunet need some powder to make skin more white.
Not to much, a woman must to be feminine, not a mask.
I can say that this is a art, to know how you can make up. This come with years, experience, and make yourself to feel good in your skin.
And all time use just quality products,..after few years with non quality products will be as a old woman.
So, i am for natural make up. not to much, i use , because i am blond, but almost nowbody don t know that i use make up.

I personally is not fond of putting on make-ups simply because I don't know how to put it. I only use loose face powder and a lip gloss for my face. I am interested to learn about it whenever the time comes that I really need to. I believe that natural beauty will always be better than with artificial ones. I am also quite anxious that my face will get irritated if I put on make-up often.

I am a university student and I would rather spend those 5 minutes sleeping than in front of the mirror putting make up. So I am basically not a big fan of make up. However I think it is important to take care of yourself. That doesn't imply that you have to have tons of make up everywhere in your face. I prefer to go with a subtle look, so i usually go for an invisible mascara. It is safe for me because I tend to rub my eyes when I start feeling sleepy at the library and it gives you just enough sparkle to make your eyes look awake and happy. But as you work in an office it won't hurt you to give yourself a quick makeover in the morning, a little of black mascara and a more discrete lipstick. And is always better for the skin, natural is always better. However beauty is just superficial so it is not worth spending hours on making it look perfect.

Hello!
I think there are no woman who look bad in a make up...:)
I think the best put on make up make you look naturally beautiful, your skin smooth, your eyes sparkling, it doesn't have to be a lot, make up has to be unseen, never too much, never too bright unless you go out, but not for every day make up...
of course, if you don't like make up - you don't have to use it...
and only practicing will do good result!!!
look up in internet for some good eye shadow putting on ways ;)

Perhaps it's because you're not comfortable with it. But make up does have it's advantages if you know how to use them properly. People have the tendency to put too much make-up, others look good in it doesn't mean it would also look good in you.
One of the advantages of having make-up or knowing how to use them properly is that you can hide the features you don't like (blemishes, wrinkles, too small/big eyes, eyebags, etc.) and enhance the assets that you do have.
It takes practice, and nothing beats the 'real' look.

The key to a good make up is to choose warm tones that blend invisably into your skin tone. The best look is natural and highlights only one area of your face. For example a nice, neutral lipstick paired with a slightly more bold eye color to draw attention to your eyes. Or a skin toned eye shadow, paired with a pretty lip olor t draw attention to your lips. It's all about finding one feature and highlighting it to make your best feature stand out. Make up doesn't create beauty, it just hihlights it.
