Plastic + heat = Cancer

Philippines

Yesterday, i went to the school where i studied when i was in high school, and in the bulletin board, i saw a health-related article which states that we shouldn't: 1.) place food in plastic containers and heat them up in the microwave 2.) drink water from a bottle that was left in a car 3.) pour hot water in a plastic cup to cook instant noodles 4.) etc, the main thought is there, plastic and heat shouldn't be put together. Why? Because plastic + heat = dioxins, and the effect of dioxins on humans is that it can cause cancer as it enters our cells. You probably know this already, but some don't, and cancer is a sensitive issue for me, as my grandmother is a cancer patient, and i want to share this to everyone so that we can prevent cancer as much as we can.. Good day to everyone! :)

It is a very useful reminding. Human beings are causing problems by inventions they make from time to time. Plastics is another example. They look nice, cost effective, suitable for various functions, but they cause health problems if not treated properly. I seldom use plastic things, esp. when they should be heated. I prefer glass. Thank you for your sharing.

Do you ever get the feeling that it is all going to kill us. It seems like everything that is somewhat new technology is causing something bad. We are trying to cut back on our use of plastics, and they say aluminum might cause dimentia. What are we supposed to use? My Grandma is a cancer survivor and when you see it that close it changes the way you think of it all. My thoughts are with your Grandma and I hope she feels okay. Thank you for bringing this out to us.

This is a very valuable information. Thanks for your sharing, so now I have to avoid plastic containers, especially if the food is heated and hot. Right now I am buying foods from restaurant near our area and used to put the food in plastic, maybe I have to do something, like cook my food. Thanks and God bless!

I had heard a little bit about this before now, but not to the extent that you have indicated. This is very good information and may be the reason why so many people both young and old are getting cancer. I am glad to learn a little more information that can help me make wiser and safer health decisions for my family.

You make a very good point, plastic is not good for us, and it is not good for the environment. I have already stopped using it, and have switched back to glass containers. I have also quit using a microwave oven because i feel that it is not good for us either.
