I have wondered how if a person found not guilty of murder can be found guilty in a civil suit for wrongful death. For example,OJ Simpson was found not guilty for the murder of Ron Goldman.Yet,his family suited him for wrongful death and won.
I do not understand that. Can someone explain that to me.

I'm not sure either but you do have me thinking. I questioned this back when it happened. I think it has something to do with the jury. Still the evidence was strong enough that in a civil suit without a jury to decide the case...they won. The jury has to all agree. In a civil suit without a jury....the judge decides.....I think. I could be very wrong on this. Now I'm going to have to go and look this up.

I do not understand that either. I also do not understand why they cannot be charged later on if eventually found guilty either by whatever means.

I have often wondered that myself. I don't understand either.
