The amount we should drink depends on the individual, his profession, life style and his health condition. I drink very little water and the fact that I do not drink outside water except for bottled ones makes it even more difficult. But then, my mom thinks this is an excuse for not to drinking more.
She is right!
What about you?

Im not really sure actually. There are those times that Id get to finish off 2 pitchers of water in a day. Then there are those times that I dont even get one drop of pure water. Maybe because I drank soft drinks or fruit juice or some other kind of a refreshing drink that made me not crave for any real pure water.
Between those two situations I think I get just about average amount of water throughout the week.^_^

Well if you agree water is good for you, you can always "train" yourself to drink x amount of water a day.

I think, the demand of your body is being met. Being young you can afford to indulge in those soft drinks and juices. Lucky you!

Hey lordwarwizard yeah, I guess I could 'train' myself but that sort of thing just doesnt go with my schedule. I have different bedtimes, waking times and meal times. It would be weird to force myself to drink water even if Im feeling very much hydrated Thanks for the suggestion though. I just might try that sometime^_^
Hiya mimpi, nice that you think so. Im trying to take more care of my body. Always good to start early right?

I drink a lot of water as my doctor advised me to do so. Anyway i don't drink water from outside until and unless it is sealed and also from a brand that i know it is safe. People say drinking lots of water keeps us healthy, i don't know what the water really does to keep us healthy but i drink a lot as advised.

I enjoy drinking water and will drink water from outside sources other then the norm, but if I feel that it might be an unhealthy place then I will not drink or eat from the place. As for how much I drink, that varies and really all depends on whether I am in the mood for water or not. I have been drinking more water and am trying to get into the habit of drinking it regularly, or just water.

Yes the first step is effort, and every little bit more that you drink, that you haven't drank before, helps!
Happy Water Drinking!

Hello mimpi!!!
Well I don't think I drink enough water everyday. Once I had a serious problem due to the lack of drinking water. I got my regions around the chicks and necks swollen. And when I used to eat anything, that used to swell even much and is used to pain so much that I was not being able to eat any thing at all. I didn't know what the reason was. I think I had gone to the stupid doctor, he gave medicines that didn't work. Then after seeing no symptoms of improvement I went to throat special doctor. She figured out the problem exactly. I was not drinking water too less than I actually need. That's why the I was hard to release saliva for the salivary glands while trying to swallow the food. And due to it, the salivary glands got block and it started swelling.
Also she gave me some medicines. And immediately after I reach home, I drank lot of water hehe...Then with the medicine and I think mostly the water, I started getting cured within few hours. And within a day or two, the five days of swelling was gone.
At that time, I had determined, Oh! I would drink enough water from now on. And from that time, whenever I remember I drink water. But still I don't think I drink enough water daily. The problem is that I forget to remember...
Happy mylotting...

I think our body demands what it needs and our thirst tells us that we are dehydrated and need to drink, It's like an alarm. And your sister is right. I can see you glowing!

I'm supposed to be drinking a lot of water as per my doctor's advice but find it quite diifcult to do so. I get that kind of bloated up feeling. In times of the summer like now i do find myself drinking a lot, but otherwise it seems i constantly need to be reminded about it. They say that 8 glasses of water is healthy, but on any given normal day i can't seem to drink more than 3-4 glasses.

We must not force ourselves but make a habit slowly and once we get into it we can drink the amount comfortably. I am trying to carry water from home so that I can drink whenever I feel like. Many times I have to skip just because I do not have it with me.

mimpi, I usually will drink more water if staying at home, for we could visit the bathroom conveniently. Anyway I like and trust our own home filter water as well. I believe I have taken enough water most of the time.
Yeah, I would try my best not to take much water if riding on a long distance public vehicle. I think it's not a pleasant and easy experience to hold the urine ..... I dare to take much water after reaching the destination
It's really carefree to take lots of water to our heart's content after having physical exercise in a sweat.
Happy posting

Hahaha.....you are right! The more you think about t the more you get uneasy. Its better not to drink water just before going out where you do not have much facility of rest rooms.
Even i tend to drink more when at home.

No I dont. I know I dont drink enough water. I know I drink a few glasses a day but i never "count it" and I know that you need 8 a day. When I work out I drink a bottle of water with me, when I am home I then drink about 3 glasses more and a little before bed. But I am guessing I am still about 2 to 4 glasses shy of the 8 a day required. I try to drink it more but its not that great tasting and unless I really have nothing else to drink or I am thirsty I dont drink it. Sad but true.

I actually think I drink too much water, LOL. :-) There is just something about it that I seem to love. :-) If a choice of juice and water were placed in front of me, my first choice would definitely have to be water. :-) Water helps to keep the body hydrated among other things. In your case, you said that you do not drink much water. I hope that maybe you can balance your water intake with other things. If you like to eat fruits and vegetables, that will help to stabilize some the hydration you are not receving from water. :-) This may not be the answer you are looking for, but it is the only I can give, ha! ha! :-)

You are spot on!
I do not drink juices or soda but eat fruits and vegetables and whenever I feel thirsty I drink. I do not make an extra effort to drink though. And I get that you are absolutely aware and doing great. Water does keep us hydrated and make us look good.

I know that I drink enough water! For a long time I kept track of it just to make sure. I have slowly stopped drinking sodas and juices every day. So I drink a lot of water during the day now. I am always having to refill the pitcher in the refigerator! Occasionally, I will have a little bit of soda or juice. But not often. I always make sure I drink extra water those days.
Drinking only bottled water is not a good excuse for not drinking enough! Your body does need a lot of water. Most people are shocked at how much better they feel as soon as they stop drinking other things and drink more water!
Try carrying around your own bottle of water. You will be surprised at how often you crave water as soon as you start drinking it all of the time!

I will do that. I need to drink more water because I avoid taking soda or juices.
Having said this, we must not stuff ourselves with it. Whatever suitable and needed should be drunk, we should drink to quench our thirst and may be little more.

Unfortunately, I admit that I am not drinking enough water everyday. I'm trying to drink a lot of water but I can't seem to do it because I only drink water whenever I am thirsty. But every time I eat my meals, I make it sure that I am able to drink water every after meals. But still there are times that I tend to forget to drink water after meals particularly when a soft drink is being served.

I think the fact that soft drinks quench our thirst makes us less thirsty to water. I am avoiding soft drinks and juices for the calorie thing.

Hi mimpi,
I think usually, I do.
I normally drink lotsa water through the day (and green tea and water for the night). In fact, I think I might be drinking too much lol.
But the "good" thing is that because I drink an insane amount of water, I go to the bathroom very regularly too. But that's if I am at home. If it is outside, likely both fluid intake and outflow have to be limited to practical conditions.
Cheers!
PS.: Over here water is safely drinkable straight from the tap (though we still boil it anyway lol) so we don't have to grapple with "bottled water only".

Here, we drink sterilised water at home. In workplace also they provide with it but I am apprehensive about it. And on road you are most unsafe. we can this much at least. Better safe than sorry. And with the advent of monsoons we are prone to water borne diseases. However, carrying water from is not only cheap but also safe. I seldom do that. Now, my mom forces me with a bottle, which i find heavy to carry and I compulsively miss it. !I never miss my choc'late though!)
I think, you are conscious and I appreciate that. everyone must be aware, specially the bachelors...

I have made a good effort over the last year or two to make sure I drink more water. I used to NEVER drink water and now I can totally feel the difference. I get sick less, my skin looks better and is less dry. I'm content with the amount that I drink now. I just replaced some of the juice and soda I used to drink with water instead.

I always drink enough water everyday. I drink 1.5 litres bottle mineral water, 750ml bottle mineral water, 1.5 litres fruit juice, and 5 cup of teas everyday. I think that's quite enough water for a day. I feel my body always fresh anytime. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Ha, No I don't drink enough water. I heard your suppose to drink 8 glasses of water a day. I've done it before but water sometimes can be boreing specially trying to drink it all at once. But currently I'm doing a bet with my mom, We can not drink anything but water all day. So since she goes to work she has tempting soda's in the vending machine so i know its hard for her lol. I stay home all day so its not hard for me.
But yeah... lmao.

We must not bogged down by the fact that we must drink more. That would make things difficult. Just take it easy and drink as much you can.Try to increase in the sips if you think you are dehydrated.

I definitely don't drink enough water, I just don't really have it in my mind that I need to be drinking it. I was thinkin about buying something that would hold the amount of water I would need to drink in one day and then using that... but I still haven't done that. But if I was to ever get on track about that that's what I would do to make sure I'm getting enough water.
