Sometimes problem arises to extort milk from a cow.Due to some reasons a cow doesn't stand still. It creates problem and sufficient milk can't be extort from the cow.
To get rid from this situation a farmer in Austria invented a extraordinary technique. When extorting milk to make the cow cool the farmer and his family members play various musical instruments. Then the cow remains stand still and gives sufficient milk. In this case classical music is more effective.

That's right. You have the correct information.
And as a matter of fact, a woman named Guo had started this practice in China too. And it really works. But it's not because it stands still.
Being a medical student myself, all i can say is that music cools down the Amygdala in the brain which is the site for defense. It is called the defense castle of the brain. It has also been reported effective in humans too.
A woman feeding her baby produces more thick milk when subjected to light music. The most effective music was that made by a piano. It is quite opposite to that of a wind organ- wind organ increases the stress level and piano decreases it. That's why they use wind organ music in horror movies. Just to scare the heck out of us.
Hope this was informative...

Mr.Future-Doctor. Oh that sends a chill down my spines...
And I have heard that some medical colleges are already trying this method on their patients. But most of the time, it doesn't work out because the patient thinks that the hospital is odd and something worse is gonna happen to him.
And yes, good husbands can persuade their wives to hear them playing a piano while nursing... it wouldn't be bad. Will it?

em]cool[/em]Music as you say can not only calm down animals, but also human beings. In India, we have a research going on under the name, "Rag and Rog" Rag stands for the musical notes and Rog stands for diseases. It has been proved and still research is going on as to how music can cure diseases. This application in dairies is really good and Im sure the milking must be easier and more, for it must sooth the animals and when its calm and soothed, the milk is better and more. Good for animals and good for us. So cheers for all of us.[

The great singer Taansen could bring rain by his Raga Songs. To forget the sorrows of life humans take shelter of music.Cheers.

I have heard of this before, in fact in many dairies it's a common thing to give the cows a little entertainment along with the milking.

Yes it's a good technique of milking. Some dairies are following this technique. There is a opposite example.A nightclub was near a dairy farm.To hear loud music from the club the cows were frightened. The production of milk was came down. The farmer sued against the nightclub. The night club had to pay compensation.

I think it's a very sweet way to keep the cows calm. Sometimes they have evil machines that keep the cows in place, I don't like this at all. I love the idea of people playing music for the cows.

i have never heard about this method before but its nice, no violence i think this is very goo, maybe you can get some extra milk from the cow for the music:))i heard that flowers loves music and they love that too when you are tolking with them, but with cows its a much different story:D i will talk with the local farmers about this method, i hope they will not think that im an idiot:))
