It is definitely always very interesting to learn about the cultures of different nationalities. I travel abroad sometimes which gives me the opportunities to meet and make friends with people in those countries. We keep in touch and get to know more about different cultures.
How about you ? Do you also like making friends with people from other countries ?

Of course I like to have friends from different countries, the last time I have been to Mauritius, an island in the Indian Ocean and I made so many friends over there, they are jovial and very friendly, I have friends in nearly 9 different countries which I keep in touch through either emails or facebook or a letter.

I have been lucky, I have remained in the same town and yet I have met people from other lands. And here on my lot I have friends from all over. i think it is great. I am lucky that they know English so we can talk, and they are so patient with me when I ask the basic questions about home.i am always ready to pay it forward by answering questions about the U.S. My best friend answers all my questions about his home but doesn't have any questions for me yet. I keep hoping to pay it forward.

I really enjoy meeting people from different countries. At the end of my work as a children's nanny I met up with a group of other people from overseas. They came from all different countries. The language all had to speak was English. From that fantastic experience I made a friend from Germany. Next I traveled around Europe by train and in the youth hostels that I stayed in I met people from all over the world. I made an Australian friend and a few years later was able to visit her during my travels. When I was worried because I didn't know which bus to take a polish boy helped me. We become pen friends and it was great when he visited me in my home country. I love to meet nationalities from countries that I haven't met before, like a lady from Papua New Guinea whilst in Samoa, a few guys from Brazil in Australia and a lady from Chile whilst in Romania. I meet the local people and other travelers and so it is excellent to learn about different cultures.

Yes, very much so! I don't get that opportunity all the time but it's always interesting when I do get a chance. Not only do I think travel is relaxing, I think it's interesting and educational. My parents and I went to Europe in 1973. We also went to Hawaii in 1972, which I know is a state but it seems like you're in a foreign country in a way. I went to the Bahamas in 1990. I have also been in Canada, by the way. I went to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Calgary, Alberta, Medicine Hat, and Edmonton. That was in 1989. What part of Canada are you from? Kathy.

I like making friends with people from other countries. Good thing that there is now the internet which makes the world smaller and reachable. It is really cool having glimpse or i could say taste of the other ethnicity, learning from each other makes me appriciate life more than i did before. And appriciate the beauty of the uniqueness of every individual i me not from my race. Its really cool being friends with people from other country.
