Does anyone suffer from sun allergies?

With the summer just around the corner, i am really worried that my rashes caused by the sun will start to appear again. This started about 3 years ago. Before that I could spend hours in the sun without a problem. In the winter, and fall i'm fine, it's just when the weather gets hotter, then i start to get these rashes only where the sun hits my skin. So far the only thing that has partially help me is applying a high sun screen, or constantly going in really really cold water. Even at that I still tend to get rashes. I can't stay out of the sun forever. Do any of you have similar reactions? Any suggestion on what helps?
