when i was a kid i have a pet chick and eventually it grew to be a chicken. i also have a puppy that became a dog har har har. but when they die i was really sad and from then on never tried to have a pet. my child now wanted a puppy or fish. do you think a three years old is ready to have a pet? my wife is against it for whne we have a pet it will be extra work. so i think i would rather get a fish

now that is the first thing i need to make sure, that my son will not catch the fish with his bare hands and eat it. sashimi style. har har har i will put that in mind that i have to put the tank on a high [lace but not to high for him to enjoy. thanks for that.

Fish is quite easy to care for, just a medium size tank and few preparation , you are good to go to have them as pets. Only extra works are feeding them daily, clean up n change water once a week, and teaching your son not to eat the fish out of the tank when he is hungry.... I have a friend got his daughter a tiny mouse in a small cage box as pet which i think is funny but it required no extra works except feeding.

Fish can be a little boring for a three-year old, and you have to make sure your toddler doesn't stick his or her hands in to grab them! (my little sister tried this with her fish).
If you don't want to have the responsibility of a cat or dog, there are always caged critters to consider. Guinea pigs are pretty fun to play with, and can be let out of their cages to play. They are also large enough to be found in the house should they escape (much easier than mice or hamsters!)

I love all animals, infact i think I like animals more than I like most people, they never let you down. I have a cat and i love my cat so much, I have had three cats in my life and they have all come to me, abandoned by people one of them lived for 17years, i really loved that cat...i think animals are the best things we can have in our lives.

I am a big time animal lover and out home is an animal rescue of abused and neglected animals in our area.
We currently have 5 dogs and 3 cats.

I love animals, but I live in an apartment, so I can only have one cat with me. My parents have adopted my huge dog Molly (she's half Malamar and half sheepdog), and they also take care of my sister's black lab Shadow.
I've grown up with animals. My parents have had cats since I was a baby, and I used to work part-time at a horse farm, so having a lot of pets just feels right. It's nice to have a furry friend that depends on you.
Once I buy a house, I would love to have a big barn for my animals, because I know I want at least one big dog (and I'll probably end up with some chickens and goats--chickens for farm-fresh eggs, and goats because they're amusing).

I totally understand that living in an apartment can be quite difficult to keep pets, certain apt. complex don't allow that , some will demand big deposit from renter just to have a small animal in the room.
I like dog too, and several other small animals. I hope your wishes come true very soon. Thank you for your response, inkstainedheart!
