How do you clean your ears?

I don't clean my ears. My father said that ears have automatic cleansing mechanism. if we clean the ears and some mistake happens, then our ear drum will burst and we will go deaf.

I use cleaning buds. If you have heard this company: Johnson and Johnson, I use it. People had found innumerable ways to clean ears since time immortal. But few of them are advisable. Cleaning during bathing is a good idea, but the interior of the tunnel wouldn't be clean. And people can see that. To clean that old people used metallic or broomstick buds. But that's hazardous. I prefer using buds.

I usually don’t clean my ears daily…it kind of cleans out itself. But once in a while if I do clean it, its by using ear buds. A few times though the wax had hardened and I had to use an ear wax softener. You just put a few drops at bed time and by morning the wax inside the ear is soft enough to be cleaned by an ear bud.

Hi achinthya, Generally it is said that do not use buds or something like that to clean ears. According to doctors there is a medicine for cleaning the ears and put the same into ears. On kids they are giving this medicine and asking not to use any buds for cleaning. But I know most of us are using buds. We hardly give importance to the good advice. I am also using buds to clean ear. But for my kids am putting drops to their ears when they complain about an itching in their ears.

I seldom clean my ears after shower, and I hate to have my ears cleaned after hair washing in the dressers. However, when I am ill, especially when having a cold, I would go ask for a cleaning with the Indian scent. I lie on a bed, the nurse lights a scent, and put it in one ear with the lighted end upward, after a quarter or so, as the scent goes down, the hot air sucks out the dirt in the ear. Meanwhile, the headache is gone, or at least moderated. Then the other ear. The traditional Indian medication works wonders.

Hi, achinthya! Well, I use cotton buds in cleaning my ears. To remove some dirt inside, I put oil in it then wipe it with cotton. Sometimes, I use a metal rod to clean my ears but it does not harm my ears because I insert it carefully. Happy mylotting and have a nice day!
