When the Houston Rockets lost their best player, Yao Ming, in the third game of the NBA Western Conference Semifinals, apparently the Los Angeles Lakers thought that the Rockets would give up and just accept the inevitable defeat that was coming.
But in game four, the Rockets pulled the emotional and unexpected upset and tied the series at two wins for each team.
To prove their superiority, the Lakers came out with a fire in game five and pounded the Rockets by forty points.
Apparently they felt that outcome was going to make the Rockets realize their inferiority and just accept their dismissal from the playoffs. Instead the Rockets set the Lakers on their heels & came through with a 95-80 win in game six.
I don't know how game seven will come to a conclusion, but I know that the Rockets will not quit.
So much for discounting their will to win!
