Am I the only one that didn't expect it?

Did anyone figure out ahead of time that the guy that was thrashed beyond belief by the bus was George?
I am glad that I didn't expect it until Meredith went screaming it down the hall. It made for a better show that way. It is rare nowdays to have a really good unpredictable show. It is nice to have unexpected twists.
So, they have been talking for awhile that Izzy and George are leaving the show. Well, there has been rumors which have continuously been denied. The season finally makes it seems like they are actually leaving. But, Patrick Demsey was on Ellen and he said no one is leaving and that they are all under contract. He was squirming a little, so maybe he was lieing. Though, if they come back in the Fall and they bring both of them back to life that might be a big stretch. I would be ok with that stretch.
So, what do you guys think? Do you think Izzy and George are actually going to be killed off or do you think this is just another cliffhanger and everything will be fine? Did you like the season finally? Did you expect it?

I had no idea it was George. I thought the show was great tonight but to see George that way was heart breaking because I really like his character. As for Izzie I thought for sure she was going to die. I truly believe that both characters will be gone come next season but I really hope I'm wrong.

I agree. I thought it was heartbreaking too. I couldn't believe it. I definately was not expecting it. I think they are both going to be gone too, especially since there has been all the rumors of they leaving. I hope we are both wrong.

I think they are both leaving the show. I expected that to happen with Izzy, but not with George. I almost freaked out as badly as Meredith did when we discovered it was George

Me too! When she said it was George I almost freaked too, like he was a friend I had know for awhile. I think they are both leaving too.

Earlier in the show, when they were talking about George going to the Army, one of the characters, I think it was Alex, called him 007.
I was prepared because I didn't watch Thursday night and heard it on the radio on Friday morning.
I think they will save George. I seem to remember hearing that Katherine,Iz, tried to get more money or she'd quit and then tried to change her mind when they told her, fine they'd write her out, but they said no, she had to go.
I guess we will find out in the fall. I can't wait.
I loved the Chief saying screw it, give me the paddles!

I must not have been paying attention as much as I thought I was. I didn't catch them calling him 007 on that episode. I heard something about having issues with Katherine Heigl too. Don't know if the reason was true or media, but I know she seemed like she wanted to focus on movies more.
I'm Anxiously waiting for fall!

Yeah part of me knows that they are leaving, but another part isn't sure and curious to see in the Fall.
