i noticed that some posts need to be tagged while others don't. before, i didn't bother to ask. now, it just occurred to me and i can't help but ask. anyone who can help me figure these things out? does it something to do with the earnings?

If you have already added tags to a discussion, you will not be asked to do so again. Tags don't have any bearing on earnings but they do make it easier to search for discussions on similar subjects and I have a feeling that they may be used to present relevant adverts on that page, though I think that the Interest groups you are a member of have more bearing on the adverts you see.

If the pertinent tags are added then they help bring up other 'similar discussions' in the column on the right ---

Tags don't have any bearing on earnings Where did you read that??? I believe that every rule here has a bearing on our earnings. Per myLot, we are supposed to tag our discussions so I feel that tagging does have some bearings on our earnings. We may not be paid specifically for adding a tag, but I feel it is included in how they figure our earnings. I know I have heard various members say their earnings went down when they stopped tagging. I've never challenged this specifically myself. I just feel the rule is there for a reason!!!
