My heart health limits me as to what I can do so my wife usually has to do the hard work, even the easy work sometimes and I find that a real blow to the ego, but I can cook up a storm when I want and that helps after Jenny comes in starved and too beat to cook.
Last night was the first time this season that the lawn needed to be mowed, so I cooked dinner.
We love potatoes and my wife just melts if I add butter and cream and maybe a little cheddar cheese so of course that was going to part of our dinner.
We also really like pork chops but I wanted to make it a little different than just pork chops so I cut them up into bite size pieces and made a nice tomato, curry and paprika sauce to cook them in.
It was a quick and easy meal to prepare. It was done in less than an hour from start to sitting down to eat. Almost exactly the same length of time it took Jenny to mow the side part of our lawn.
I added some peas and corn on the side but it was the potatoes that pork that Jenny drooled over.
Who does the cooking in your home?

That sounds fantastic! Fully loaded mashed potatoes, as we call them, are always a hit! So very yummy! I like potatoes, but my husband could eat them constantly! Im ok with that, they make an easy, cheap side dish!
I do most of the cooking in my house. Every once in a while I can convince my husband to make something. But not very often. He swears I am a better cook. I think he just likes to eat and would rather not have to cook! But I cant complain, he does do a lot of other things around the house!
I think it is awesome that you do what you can around the house, even though you cant do some of the things that you would like to. There are some people (my father-in-law) who just stop doing anything! It can be really frustrating to the person who then has to do everything!
I love to do different things when I cook. Pork or chicken or beef gets boring if you always cook it the same way! I think I might have to try something along the lines of what you made for dinner. Thanks for the idea!

My wife and I are like that, we could eat potatoes at every meal I am sure. Even though we love spuds I still do a lot of cooking with rice. I think rice is just meant to go with hot spicy food.
If it was a cook off I would win against my beautiful wife every time but it's not always about who is the best in the kitchen, it's about learning to love cooking and learning new dishes all the time. I get excited like a kid at christmas when I am trying new dishes.
I had actually planned to cook chicken but we only had enough left for two and our son was going to be home for supper so I went with the pork instead. It was still really tasty.

I am the same way when it comes to new recipes! Lately, a friend of ours has been coming to dinner on Tuesday nights. I always pick a new recipe for us to try. So far they have all turned out quite tasty! They are all on my list of things to make again!
I admire you and your wife. It sounds like you have a fantastic relationship!

Normally I would say that I do most of the cooking at our house. But I recently had surgery and have now start chemo treatments so my husband is doing more of the cooking. He made gumbo last night, but I had to pass, didn't think I was ready for the spicy.. My daughter even cook on Monday, she's 15, but I think it's the first time she has cook a full meal.
So for us right now I guess it's whoever feels up to cooking.
By the way, your supper sounds yummy

I like to cook spicy but I know the limits Jenny can handle so I make it just right for her and then Stephen, our son, and I pile on the hot peppers at the table.
Sometimes Steve is home when I cook lunch as I work from home and I pump up the spice then. Mmmmm
I hope your health grows strong.
