i have to listen some older's words.
i think may be they are right.
but i always puzzled by their words.
i don't know wheter they are right or wrong.
i can easily distinguish the roght or wrong from youngs.
but i can't distinguish older's words.
sometimes i quite worried about when i met a older one.
i think they know my thought sometimes.
do you think more older more experience they have?

Experience is the thing you get - just AFTER you needed it.
Older people have more experience, but I don't think there's always a right and wrong. The world isn't black and white: there's a lot of grey. We can all learn a lot from listening to older people, who have experienced more, but also by listening to younger people as well - often, the younger generations have a completely new approach to a problem.

i think wisdom comes with age. our experience makes us learn about life. we become wiser as we age and gain more experience. that's why older are wiser than the young. however, there is a vicarious experience for the young. the TV and other technological facilities make the young experience the world. travelling also expands the understanding of a person.

Hi Fwangaa, do you ask them to give examples? Sometimes when they told me that something would not work, I ask them to share their experiences.
Sometimes they are right, sometimes they are wrong. They failed once doesn't mean that nobody can succeed. Even when they read people, they are not always right, especially for those from different countries and different cultures.
Just find out their experiences and see what they based their conclusion on.

I guess so, but i think it would also depend on experience or in what type of discussion you've had with older people..but one thing is for sure they've been to what you've been to right now so whether you are not telling the truth they know it.

I think that the elderly experienced more things than we are young people .Most of the time their recommendations to be helpful for us.We can learn from their suggestions and experience. But after all, they and we are in a different period. We must also maintain our own point of view!

Nobody has all the answers--not old people and not young. The thing is older people have more experiences because they have lived longer, so they think that translates to wisdom. Well, sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. Each person must listen to what the other (older or not) has to say, and then judge for themselves.
Sometimes young people need to learn by making mistakes. Although older people in their lives would like to prevent them from suffering, sometimes it's the only way to gain experience. Each challenge we go through helps to mold us into the people we will become. It's good to listen to what others have to say, and try and apply good advice to your life. Sometimes, you just have to learn the hard way. Even adults!

I cannot agree with this in alot of cases. I do think that some older people are more wiser but not all. I am wiser than my husband and he is older than me. I have learned more in my short time than he has honestly.

You are right the person gets more older he/she has also gets the more experience than youngstar because they get more chance to see so many things in different ways but the main problem with them is they do ot accept the changes easily so I beleive older are most experience person

I dont think that the older the more experience.Experience dont come with age. There are some old folks who will die not experiencing the very basic facts of life. Some people learn from their past mistakes and some from others mistakes. We should be able to distinguish right from wrong whether its from old or young.

The amount of experience we get from life is not usually reflected with the number of years we live but the number of times we take chances to try new things. There are young people who know more alot about life than the ones who are old coz they are not afraid to grab every opportunity that comes to their lives. Those who have courage to cross bridges and to go another mile without fear are usually the ones who live life to fullest and does not waste any opportunity that comes their way. Those who don't limit themselves from fear of failure or a chance of getting hurt. It depends much more on the person, and on his willingness to accept and to adapt to change.

It depends upon the person to person. Few people have good experience and they good in advice also you can trust them but few might not be good in this even though they old and seems to have good knowledge. I came across many old people and found some to be very knowledgeable while few not knowing what they speaking up .

The older one gets the more experience one will have but not necessarily means the person is wiser.
But in terms of life approach i.e. failures and success and emotions they feel such as love, broken hearteds, hopelessness, loneliness, frustrations and emptiness, the older the person the more chances they have faced these before in their life. Therefore, they would most likely be able to give you good advices, suggestions and/or solutions. Also something about maturity, a person's perpective is more wider. They are able to look at situations from different angle. Therefore can provide different feedbacks.

yeah, i think as your life getting older, you'll probably have a lot of experiences, but that doesn't mean will make you more wiser, because it will depends on how you take lessons from all the experiences you've been through.. and about the right or wrong things.. as for me, the are no right or wrong decisions !!! it depends on how you handle or how you live your life after you made that decisions..
