Hi friends. I believe all of us are getting impacted by this recession directly or indirectly. How long do you think recession is here to stay? I believe it should be just another year or so, and then we can heave a sigh of relief!!

I hope if gonna end up this year. This recession makes our life difficult many peoples losing their jobs and their homes. I hope next year the life is much better. Although we don't have job security right now I think it is very important to have savings. Many people now are being thrifty because we never know how long this recession would last.

Alot of companies are making bad decisions worsening what was going to be a minor recession. It would be over now if not for some major overreaction. A recession is just a slowdown in growth, something that should be expected and planned for occassionally but America has conditioned everyone to fear these bumps in a business plan. Right now we are on a dangerous edge. On one side, everyone (and by everyone I'm mainly refering to big companies that need to learn to be more efficient without cutting jobs) tightens up for a couple months and we ride out the bump, or we panic and create a depression. Chrysler and GM show all the signs of full panic, so it is up to the rest of America to hold it together.

well i think that the recession unfortunately will take a few years to start to recover. i dont think the people in charge of the countries are helping with were they spend the money. The first thing to look at to see if its recovering is the base rate for the banks and unemployment as when its recovering more people will be findin work. But at the moment i think were in for along struggle sorry!

Ya, the economy crisis and recession have had huge impact on many people and companies around the world. Currently seems like the economy situation is starting to get better and improving. It has the sign of recovering after the downturn. Though, it will still take some time to slowly recover, and i think this will be until end of the year. I believe the recession will fade away in next year, this is only what i predict, haha. Perhaps it's because i'm so optimistic that i look things in the good way. Some economist predict that this recession will continue until mid of next year or a year later. I just hope that their prediction is not that accurate, haaha.

I think this is really hard to answer. How is the recession defined? Based on unemployment rates? or sales rates? savings rates? number of new loans? There are so many different reasons to believe we are in a recession!
I am quite thankful that my husband and I have really not been affected at all. We both still have our jobs and have no problems paying our bills. Things havent changed since before the recession started! (Well, depending on when you believe it started, because we are young.) I am not saying this to brag, I am just saying this to point out that it is sometimes hard to tell!
Even when the experts say we are no longer in a recession, some people still wont have jobs. Some people still wont be able to afford their bills.
I am hoping that things look better soon. But it really is a big cycle. So I dont know if we can ever really escape a recession!

I think... or I hope that the economy will be back on track no later than end of year. Actually this recession is merely a correction to the errors we (or the globe) has made. Considering there are already some big names gone (Lehman gone while GM is...), I think that the big losses should have been exposed and the remaining is how long it takes for the survivors to get back on track.
