I've been thinking about this alot. Is there really another REAL word for synonym? I mean, the synonym of synonym. If there is, then what is it? My friends keep on asking me this question but I don't know what to answer. Hope you guys could help. And actually, I'm just really curious about it. :)

The thesaurus provides analogue which loses the specific verbial connotation, as well as equivalent (for which my evaluation would be, well, equivalent to analogue) and metonym which is more of a literary term.

Thanks! I never tried googling it since I'm too lazy. Haha!

I looked it up in the thesaurus, because you got ME curious about it! And it said it has two synonyms: "metanym" (never heard this word in my LIFE) & "equivalent". I wouldn't use either of those two words, though, so I don't know if you'd consider them to be "REAL".

Oh. Haha! I never heard of that word either! Well, it is "real" I guess.. But I'll just stick to synonym. Haha! Thanks, by the way!
