Do you think husbands can be good cooks? My husband is just learning to cook and he does things pretty neat and yes tasty stuff. Right now he is in the kitchen frying chappatis, and trust me they come out really good. What do you think?

my dad is a pretty good cook.. he rarely makes food but when he does it tastes very good.. he's got this way of making chapatis wherein they are about the size of the pan, pretty thick but turn out perfectly cooked without a single brown spot anywhere on it.. I've tried the same but always end up either burning them or not cooked totally inside.. :D.. though i can make some wicked pasta..

yeah..usually when we're visiting dad he spends half the time in the kitchen helping mum prepare food.. hell they even exchange notes on recipes at the dinner table... :) my only contribution to all this is the fact that i convinced mum to use some extra virgin olive oil in cooking as gave a better taste to the food..

Myhusband is a good cook. Not as good as me of course but he'll do in a pinch! We both enjoy cooking as well as we both enjoy eating so we'r matched up pretty good! He is actually a very good cook. He loves cooking Italian food. Myself I like Mexican better. We take turns cooking for each other. Tonight is Lasagne his treat!

I think man should learn how to cook so if there wife is not around they can prepare food for themselves or for their children. In our house my mother is cooks better than my father. We don't allow our father to cooks because he is so messy in the kitchen and he cooks bad. I think it is important to learn to cook wheather you are male or female.

Mine can only make fried-eggs and boil water :) I took some pictures of him cooking in the kitchen, it's really a rare occasion, and I love to see it :)

May be you should try to teach him more like I did to my husband. But it all depends, your husband should be interested. If I did not show my husband how to cook when he is in the kitchen he used to feel bad and say I am not teaching so from then on i started teaching him and it really was fun cooking.

Why certainly they can be. It depends on how they are raised and if they are open to doing so. My hubby took a cooking class in highschool for people that were going to be "single" or out on their own soon. It's funny he graduated 20 yrs ago and still remembers a few things from that class. He does cook pretty well when he wants to, it's prodding him to do it sometimes. As I like him to cook on his days off & I cook on the days he works. My hubby is awsome @ omlets, they are really good and soooo big I have to share mine with the kids. But you know my Uncle has no idea how to cook and he's in his 60's. If it wasn't for restaurants and my Aunt he'd probably live on cold cereal and fruit! *LOL* But he's a picky jerk so I don't think I'd ever want to cook for a man like that!

My father is an okay cook, but my man now is terrible. His idea of a good meal is boiling some pasta and opening a jar of sauce from the store to put on top. Actually, that is the only thing he can do, he even burns toast. Guess it's a good thing I'm a cook or he would starve. Before we met his mother cooked his meals all the time like he was some sort of baby, not 37 years old. I was fearful that she would have that maternal instinct to hate me if I started cooking for him and providing for him where she used to, but she was so glad she didn't have to cook for him anymore. We've been together quite a while but I did not meet his mother until just recently, she asked me if I would marry her son so she could stop doing his laundry and cleaning his house too. Haha! Guess I found a guy that can't really do anything around the house however he does bring in very good money with his job thank goodness.

I was never really raised how to cook that well, my mother pretty much never made me cook, so I can cook but just on the basic stuff lol. So I like it when my husband takes over, because he likes to add different ingredients and all that good stuff, and always makes a dinner taste very, well, tasteful! lol... It seems to me that most women I know say their husbands are better cooks than they are! lol I wish my husband was a culinary expert haha
