Hi, Im not sure if I have put this into the correct catergory or not but I hope I have. I have recently been thinking about donating my eggs, as I live in England I wont get paid for it so please dont think I am doing it for money!!
The reason I am thinking about this is because I am blessed with a beautiful healthy daughter and another one due in August and I feel so bad for people that cannot have children of their own.
Has anybody been through the process of donating their eggs and how did the experience turn out. Are there any risks involved? I have tried researching on the internet but can only find sites that are very outdated, also if anybody knows a good site about this it would be very much appreciated. I too am sorry if this has been posted about before I was searching but couldnt find any posts.
If you havent done this in the past what are your thoughts and feelings on the subject I am really interested in what people think about it aand there own experiences. One more question has anybody on here been conceived in this way and what are your thoughts and feelings on it? How does it feel for you?

I have never done this myself. I do know someone who looked into it. I live in the US, so I would be able to make a lot of money doing this. But I wont because of what is involved.
In order to harvest the eggs, there is a lot of hormone treatments they give you. They have to make sure the egg is ready to be fertilized and as strong as possible. The hormone treatments are great for the egg. But they can also cause a lot of mood swings and other effects on your body.
I have not yet had any of my own children, so I have no idea if I am capable! I certainly hope that I am. I, too, feel bad for people who arent able to have any of their own children. However, I think there are other good options as well.
I think that is awesome of you for considering doing this. Before you actually sign up, just make sure you know all of the risks involved and how it will affect your body. Something else to think about is there is often an age limit. My sister thought about doing it, but at 31 she was too old!

thanks for your comment it has helped me in my decidion, do ypu know how long after giving birth you can do it and do you happen to know any websites or anything that are worldwide? I really do feel bad for people that cannot have children naturally as I find it so easy even when using birth control... i am only 20 so I dotn think my age will be an issue!

Im sorry that I dont have any good websites for you. I dont know how long you should wait after giving birth. I would suggest not doing it as long as you are nursing. No need to pass the hormones onto your baby!
I think the guidelines are probably different in every country. I would talk to your doctor about it. They can probably tell you more or tell you where to find out more information. I would assume that any OB/GYN would know about it because some of their patients probably want to donate or recieve eggs!
