The other day, I told my husband that If I am going to die, I rather have it by accident and not by illness. I don't want to prolong my agony, I don't want to see the people I love sacrificing their time just to take care of me. I also don't like increasing medical expenses.
But when I ask my husband his preference, he want to die due to illness. He wants more time to spend with his love ones. He wants to prepare them if he is gone.
Of course, I was touch by his answer but it still didn't change my mind. LOL
How about you? Have you thought about this? Please share your thoughts

I will prefer to die with an accident it is less suffering, than suffering to my sickness, because i try it i almost dying with my sickness of epilepsy when i am a baby, my skin is almost dark and my eyes was big, i am tried of suffering but now i survive my sickness with the help of God, this is my second chance to live so i enjoy it

There is a third possiblity you know, and that is to go peacefully in your sleep. That is how a lot of people die. From 3am to 5 am is the time of night when most people die of natural causes, or illness or heart stoppage etc. This is the time when your metabolism slows the most, and you just stop breathing and die in your sleep.
That would be my preference. An accident might be painful. You might end up a vegetable with folks having to do everything for you and tubes sticking out everywhere. Yes, you may not feel anything, but then again who knows?

I rather be die due to illness so I can prepare myself and my family if my time comes. Accident happens unexpectedly I don't want it to happen with me. Although you suffer from the pain but at least you know how long you gonna live. I hope I'm gonna ready for it when my illness got worst in the future. I'm preparing myself to accept the outcome of my illness so I have time to say goodbye to my family.

I agree with you. I would rather die because of an accident - as long as it is quick and painless!
Your husband makes a good point. But I try to make sure my loved ones always know how much I care about them. So that wouldnt be a problem. Also, I have watched some of the people I love die because of illness, and it is hard on everyone. No one wants to watch someone they love suffer.
Even though it wasnt one of the choices you offered, I want to die of old age! That is a peaceful way to go. Everyone is happy that you have had a long, healthy life. No one feels bad for your suffering. And you didnt have to go through the pain of illness!

I want to die because of an accident. I, like you, don't want to have people taking care of me. I don't want to have to see my loved one crying and slowly waiting for me to die. I would like to not know myself. I wouldn't want to be lying in bed for weeks or months thinking about things I never done in my life or how people are going to feel after I am gone. One part of me kind of wants to know when it is going to happen, I would like to be able to have last words with people. I would like to know but only if I wasn't too sick to move. I would spend the little time I had left to finish things that I didn't finish and say good bye. This is a tough question. Now you have me thinking and I don't know anymore. I am going to live life to the fullest, do things I want to accomplish in life, tell people everyday how I feel about them... thank you for making me think about this again!!! I have thought about it in the past but now that I am starting my own family, I think I have a different outlook on it. I want to be able to tell my baby how much I love him/her (pregnant, don't know yet) and tell them things about life, tell my man that I love him and I want him to live the best life he can without me and to always be good to our son/daughter and let them know all their life how much their mommy wanted them. Maybe if I do these things everyday then when the time comes, accidental or with notice. people will know how I feel and I would have already told them what I needed to.

Accident haa..So you want to die of an accident. That according to me is like running away from life. You gotta be dying in natural way not by an accident. That is unfair to the life form that you have been provided with. so use it justifiably..

Of course dying to accident is better than illness.
because we don't bothersome our family anymore for hospital expense, doctor expense, medicine expense. But above them all, Living still the best...

I much rather die in an accident than die due to an illness. I say this because about a year ago I was on a 6 month treatment for an illness I had, and it wiped me out completely. I have met other college students like me who had done the treatment and many of them took time off school in order to deal with the side effects and the emotional strain. Luckily for me my side effects weren't that bad and I stayed in school, but still it was exhausting and affected my daily life.
After only those 6 months of, what I consider, a mild illness, there is no way I would want to deal with anything more serious like cancer or leukemia. The kind of stress one would get from dealing with such serious diseases is more than I want or think I could handle.

I'd rather go through the illness for the simple fact that it would take time. And I see ya'lls point about experiencing more pain and it being prolonged... but that's not what I'm concerned about. I would be concerned with being able to tell the people that I'm closest to that I love them and being able to see them and say goodbye before I die. I wouldn't mind the suffering of the illness as long as I got to spend time with my loved ones.

If given the chance to choose between dying due to illness or due to an accident, I would prefer dying due to an illness. It's because,I want to be able to prepare my loved ones and help them accept that my days in this world are already counted. I want to reconcile to those people whom I have offended and hurt. I want to express to my loved ones how much I love them.

I would prefer dying as quickly as possible as well. it is never easy for anyone to lose family members so be it quick or slow it will still be painful. It would probably be better to die of an illness as long as the family is concerned but then again it would be painful for them to watch you die like that.
