YEAH BABY IT'S SPRINGTIME IN MISSOURI!!! LOL!! GEeezz! The action started right around 5:00 p.m. ( my time Central time) this evening; my local channel has issued out Tornado Warnings for the last 45 minutes http://www.komu.com/satellite/SatelliteRender/KOMU.com/ba9501a1-c0a8-2f11-0159-8d14a338d7bf still raining here in Audrain County, very windy, lightning, thunder, my silly niece phones me in a panic saying that she was still in Hallsville, she had to take her husband to work there, I told her what was going on here, that Mexico had all the tornado sirens blaring full blast while I was on the phone with her; she was freaking out...LOL!!! nothing mostly here but "rotation" stuff earlier but as I sit here round # 2 is picking up with the storm so guess I'll log off for now...nice and cool right now it had gotten really stifling hot before the storm of course; just three days ago there was a lot of damage done from tornadoes up in Kirksville, Mo and some other towns to the south of me; good sleeping weather I say..(G)!!!

We're bad to get tornadoes around here at this time of year, too. We had a pretty bad storm here last Saturday. It didn't do too much damage, though. It seems like I'm always right in the path whenever we have one. I have a power outage, I have a tree that gets struck, whatever. My power was dim just about all day and it struck my modem on my computer. I couldn't imagine what was wrong but I called my internet provider and he (the man I talked to) said that my modem went bad. I was out of kilter for about three days. He sent me a new one and it didn't cost me anything because my computer is still under warranty. From now on whenever I see a storm coming, I'm going to unplug my computer. I never had to do this with my old computer. Kathy.

I like rain but I don't like storms and tornadoes. We really have had a lot of rain here lately and I hope it's over with now. It's been pretty hot today. I volunteer at a therapeutic riding center and I'm on the drill team out there. We got together to practice today.We're getting together at the same time again next week. Then, we're going to break for one week. When we get back together in June, we're going o practice at 10:30 in the morning.This gives me a horse to ride since I don't have a horse I can ride at home right now. The horse I've been riding out there here lately is a big old Palomino! His name is "Yellow". Don't you think that's perfect for a Palomino?! I wish you could see him. He is beautiful! Kathy.

Hey girl, you need to start some discussions about therapeutic riding. What types of conditions are your horses therapeutic for? I know that some emotionally disturbed kids go riding as therapy, and also that people with CP really benefit from therapy rides.

Yes, I'm thinking about doing that one of these days. I just need to think about what I want to say exactly. Therapeutic riding is good for people who are autistic, people with learning disabilitiies, ADHD, people who can't walk, blind people, deaf people, and like you said, people with cp, and other problems. I've forgotten what the other problem you mentioned was but it's good for that, too. The horses have to be SUPER calm to deal with these types of problems before they can be considered as a therapy horse. The riding center where I volunteer is called EASI. This stands for "Equines Assisting Special Individuals". We even have a wheelchair ramp out there for people who are in wheelchairs to use to mount horses. Kathy.

HI {{Tyc}} all is well here; WE had mega tons of wind, lots of lightning I swear all the storms anymore the lightning is so vicious and nasty; STrike after strike you know? The thunder was really LOUD too, that big BOOM kind of thunder that just rolls on and on and on and on; My poor Cat Screamer was having a rough time of it; if you like go up and read what I posted under Jerz's...you can read what the wind was doing to my ATtic Fan now that was a bit "strange" for me to get used too (G)! it was just one more bumpy afternoon/night like so many of them here in Old Missouri!! They don't call it Tornado Alley for nothing! It's just that there are so many of them anymore, maybe I'm just getting old I don't know? But I love to sleep when its stormy out, I know I'm crazy as a bed bug!!! LOL!!

I like to sleep when it's raining but I don't like to sleep when it's storming. I know what you mean about the thunder being so loud. It can get very loud around here, too. I startle very easily, anyway. I'm just glad that you made it through the storm okay. I hope youall didn't have any major damage. Kathy.

Hey Jerz!! who's Joe?? ( just curious ) (EG)! yeah it all blew itself out, there was lots of crazy wind and mega lightning and thunder for quite awhile thankfully the local stations "behaved themselves" and didn't interrupt my finale night of CBS Shows, now that's when I get crazy..LOL! They have their little warning radar thingy up on the screens which is plenty but when they interrupt and go "live" at the station and mess up the shows then I get mad crazy I know but I do... I hate to hear those dang sirens though I am glad they work, they give me the hebejeebie's...growing up in the country and living there for so many years we didn't have that sort of stuff ya know? Very loud they are and very "creepy"... poor tree's were doing quite a "dance" out in the yards here, its amazing if you watch them how far they can actually bend and twist in the wind you know? Poor Screamer was scared, she is not fond of the big thunder boomer's and the wind was so crazy with the down drafts and shifting winds on my attic fan it was making them "clank" here in the house, it was like when you first turn it on, how it kinda "clanks" and that was freaking her out too...LOL!! yep its springtime!! That's for sure!!

Hey jan! I sure hope that you are going to ok! I hope that the twister doesn't pick you up and land you in "Oz"! Or maybe you might like to take a little journey to see the Wizard? I don't know about your state! You sure get some really mean weather out there! I don't think I could stand it! First you have those terrible winters with all that awful snow and unbelievable freezing temps and now you're having tornados! I think I'll just stay here in good old crazy NY! Please let us know that you are safe when it's all over with@

Hi LadyMarissa: Yeah it was ok, it was mostly the winds and they were picking up roatation on the radar, the sky was that icky "greenish cast" to it when I had gone outdoors to take a looksy for myself (G)! But we just had the backside of it, they did have one touch down just 6 miles west of Vandalia, a small town not far from me, but we sure did have the big bad thunderstorms for awhile there; I don't get too excited about it all really I enjoy storms for the most part but I don't like hearing the Tornado Sirens going off...LOL! That part kinda sends chills up your spine from all the Tornado movies I've watched and silly storm chaser series on the Discovery Channel... When I grew up in the country and when I lived out in the country there are no sirens to warn you , you just have to go with your gut instinct and or watch TV or have the radio on; Even better, my animals always let me know when there was a big nasty wind storm coming or even just the thunderstorms; Ya gotta watch your animals in those kind of situations they always "KNOW" long before us humans have a "clue" as to what is going on; LOL!! good to see you and thanks for stopping by; Thankfully no lightning strikes here last night, though it was wicked at times!!

I totally understand about watching the animals. I used to live in a small valley nestled between 2 hills. My dog went crazy one night & the cat was hiding instead of sitting in my lap. I get out to the main road the next morning & everything was torn up. Seems a tornado had come straight up the first hill & jumped to the second totally ignoring my house. Tornadoes don't show favorites & they can be extremely destructive. Any other storm except a tornado & I'm fine with it. Tornadoes still scare the hell outta me!!!

Hi Marissa: yeah that's what they do exactly!! SEveral years ago when I was still living in my mobile home, the dogs had been on eggshells the whole day, and then that afternoon my Cat Minx, she really really was doing this God-Awful howling, yowling noise she makes when a big nasty is in the area, or can drop down on us anyway, the down draft winds were so bad they were roaring in my furnace and I'm going from window to window to see what if anything I can see, my two dogs had crawled up into tight balls both of them in the one doghouse..LOL! too funny if you had seen this sight, Minx and her baby at the time my Screamer were just hurting my ears they were screeching so bad, but with all that was going on outside I never saw a funnel cloud but it had done all kinds of damage just down the road from me (same road) and one neighbor had one whole side of his roof blown off, tree's were down across the road everywhere, or on top of other homes, it was awful to see but yet in my little "holler" as I called it where my mobile home sat, was surrounded by a creek and tons of tree's and crazy as this sounds there was not one tree limb in my yard, not one stick and I'm talking about a LOT of trees up and down this creek by where I lived, I had two neighbors come down to check on me as they were sure my mobile home had probably suffered major damage...not one thing wrong, it was anchored down but if a tornado had HIT IT well it would be destroyed, they were just as flabbergasted as I was, that there were no tree's up rooted, none were damaged and my yard had no sticks what so ever in it..LOL! Everybody else it took them days to clean up and they all were out on the tractors moving tree's that had fallen across the road so others and emergency crews could come out, it was just a sight to behold..."very freaky" that day I was truly blessed for that big nasty wind to have "spared me and my babies and my home;" Thankfully!!

We have severe thunderstorm watches this evening but no tornadoes watches or warnings yet. It is rare for us to be under a tornadoe watch let alone a warning but occassionally we are. Hope all is well when you wake up! Not sure I could sleep thorugh a warning but would b better than worrying about it I guess!

HI fasttalker: Yeah that was some big storm front that moved through the other night; Did you have any wind or damage out your way? I hope not!! We didn't have too much here, mostly was just on the backside of the front or something, it was plenty of wind and rain and lightning, the lightning was the worst though!! I've always liked to sleep during storms for some strange reason LOL! Guess that makes me strange huh? thanks for stopping by and I do hope your area survived too!!! AAAWWW Springtime Weather right?

We've had our share of tornado warnings and watches too. Times like that I wish I had a basement. My daughter moved across the street a few months ago, I can now go over there if needed. The last few nights it has been raining and storming like crazy, like you said good sleeping weather. Be safe, the threat of tornados is a part of spring that I don't like. I get a kick out of the weather forecasters too, they really get into the weather. Its comical watching them on tv.

HI Polly~Doodle: Glad to hear you are ok too via the nasty storms that rolled through, mercy me!! I'm glad you have a place to go too if it did get really bad, or if you got nervous or scared, which is easy enough to do; I can always go out to my Father's Farm too if I had too, we have a basement there but sometimes those storms blow up so quickly it would be too dangerous to "drive there in the wind and rain" you know? LOL! No thanks! Besides if its my time, its my time to go no matter where I am...LOL!! Take care dear lady;

To think we almost lived there REALLY scares me to no end! Hubby and I lived in Texas for 10 years and have experienced some unimaginable storms and even weathered a tornado in our back yard and many close calls that we didn't want to deal with that kind of weather ever again. He was offered a great job once he retired and it was in Missouri but I said no, it's time we go home for our parents have aged and we need to spend some time with them. Thank goodness for that because both of his parents passed away last year. He did get to spend some time with them before the left this world which was a good thing but to think he could've been far away and unable to, it would've been too much for him to bear. Besides, enough of those storms, I don't want any more!! lol However, we're getting a lot of the same storms here in North Carolina. Oh well, we can run but we can't hide!!

Yeah we can't really outrun the weather no matter where we live right? Hope you are well now will try to "catch up" on your topics as soon as I can; always so much to do this time of year out at my Father's farm; {{hugs to you}}

Hey Jan, I can't believe how cool you are in the face of possible tornados!! I guess that's the only way you can deal with living in that area. I live in Orlando Florida and have to deal with Hurricanes from time to time. But given the choice, I'll take possible hurricanes over possible tornados anyday. I have to say, you are really cool and collected. How long have you lived in Mexico, Mo? What does (G) mean? leenie

HI ya {{Leenie}}, had a crazy weekend and a stupid computer here giving me "fits" Yeah I don't get upset during storms, only when I'm near a place or object that has just been struck by lightning, that's happened a few too many times, too close for comfort, A big oak tree almost fell on my mobile home, MANY MANY MANY years ago when I lived up in ILL...NOW that will make you sit up in bed and take notice...LOL!! I think those awful friggin Hurricanes (to me) would be far worse, no thanks!!! I was born and raised here in Mexico, MO its a small do nothing town, in my early 20's I first moved to Arkansas, then up to ILL, ( a small town called Pittsfield, ILL) then down to the Lake of the Ozarks, here in Mo, loved that area too damn expensive for me to live there, went back to ILL...and then in 1986 all hell broke loose with my parents after 37 years of marriage they decided they hated each other and divorced, so that kinda destroyed my world such as it was; and I've been back here in Mexico ever since, it was meant to be as in 1993 my brother came down with Cancer, passed away in 1995, then had my CAR accident which put me on Disability and at the same time my Mother became sick and she passed away in 1997...(sigh) my health continued to fall into the "crap-barrel", then my Father's Health has been "crappy" off and on the last 6-7 years he now is 82 years old so there you have it...My life sucks!! OH when you see this (G) that means Grin...or you might see a small (g) still means grin, like this Ok lady-bug your turn, catch me up on your life, either here or PM me.. send me a message here via mylot either way (G)!
