I loved to get the treat of sunflower seeds, they are so delicious salted. When I was younger we would get this treat when going to the dollar store, it was one of my favorite things and it satisfied my appetite. I haven't had sunflower seeds in a long time but I was thinking about getting some or asking for some the next time my fiance, I, and his parents go to the store. So do you like sunflower seeds? What's a treat you love?

Sunflower seeds are good, I must admit... But from experience they get worse as you start eating them. They make my lip burn and tongue gets a weird feeling. I just go with the peanuts when I'm in for a snack. Head to Safeway and grab a can of honey roasted. Mmmmmm.

I had actually thought about the salt burning lips. They have mine in the past, but I think it's well worth it. Of course it's also a way to know just when to set them down! I do like peanuts myself, I don't have a safeway near me, or know of one where I live, I have heard of the store before I believe. As for honey roasted, I've had that before and they are okay but I much rather have cashew or mixed. I appreciate the response.

Yes it really hurts when your lips start chapping. Washing your mouth and then putting chapstick on should help a little bit, but I wouldn't suggest doing that before you ate the sunfloer seeds it might not taste good, depending on what flavor chapstick you use.

Yeah, at the time I eat the seeds, I'm hooked on it.. But I get a lot of burns on the lips and sometimes even a little skin peeling on my lips.

First of all, I am ticked to discover I have not been getting your e-mail notifications. Yours, Lilybug, and LittleMel. I have your notifications ON, yet I have been getting no discussions from you. I didn't think you were on my friend list, but you are! Now to the question at hand. I love sunflower seeds. They are great for long car rides, or just enjoying a day in the sun. I haven't had any in quite a while, but maybe I should add that to my grocery list. I also like putting them in a salad. Yum!

AmbiePam - I am so sorry it took me so long to respond back to you. You see I am a terribe procrastinator, but I really need to work on that. With mylot glitching as it is, it's given me a chance to go through my unresolveds here on mylot. Sunflower seeds are a delicious treat, but I can honestly say that I've never thought of putting them in my salad. That is something I will have to try the next time we go to the store, I'll have to get a pack and then get a salad! Have a great day!

Take me out to the ball game! lol I have only ever been to one ball game. I think I was supposed to go to see the same team play another time, but didn't. When I did go it was with my fifth grade class. I think sunflower seeds was one of the things they served. Hope you had / have fun at ballgames chomping on those sunflower seeds. By the way, I am so sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to you. I really have nos excuse other then I am a terrible procrastinator. Now that mylot is glitching I have plenty of time to catch up on my unresolved discussions. Have a wonderful day!

I used to eat sunflower seeds alot when I was a kid, but not so much lately for some reason. Probably because they are just so messy, I guess. I still really like them, though. My favourite? Chocolate, yep, love chocolate. Or strawberries, they are also great, too.

I have eaten sunflower seeds in such a long time either. I am sorry it took me so long to respond, as I've been telling everyone I have no excuse, I just am a big procrastinator. With mylot glitching it gives me time to catch up on older discussions and I bet it will give me an idea or two. Have a great day!

This is a really good discussion and I am sure that different people have different opinions when it comes to sunflower seeds and eating them,I am sure that some people like sunflower seeds and will eat them all the time, and then I am sure there are people who do not like sunflower seeds and either eat them only every once in a while,or never eat and I can understand both sides,I have never been into sunflower seeds and I do not like eating them because I think they are nasty and way to crunchy and I am not sure if my parents eat them either, but I think my father might because he eats about anything, and when it comes to a treat I like I am not sure what that would be,because I really like pizza, and I guess a treat that I like that we only get every once in a while is a Oreo Blizzard from Dairy Queen even though they are out of the question now since we are on a diet, and we are doing good if you ask me,and hopefully we can keep it up and lose some weight before our wedding,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

I know that you like the Oreo Blizzard and I think that it is a really good treat, but like you said we're on a diet. I also think that we're doing pretty good on the diet and I wouldn't want to spoil that! Maybe once we get back to a good weight we can start eating treats but right now we do eat yogurts that taste more like sweets! I love you with all of my heart and soul!

Wow I love sunflower seeds. They are my favorite snack. I can eat an entire bag in one sitting. I take them with me when I go on road trips. I keep them with me at work, at home and just about every where. I can remember growing up and getting them at the ball games that my parents would drag us to. We must have eaten so many pounds of them. I can remember my mouth being raw from eating so many. I love sunflower seeds. Like I said they are my favorite snack. I like them much better than potatoe chips.

Yes they are a very delicious snack. I've been to one ballgame that I can think of, and that was a fieldtrip at school. I do like potato chips, and I believe sunflower seeds are much healthier of course unless you make the chips homemade! Have a wonderful day.

I actually enjoy eating Sunflower seeds from time to time. Have not ate any in quite a while though. The only problem can be having a place to put the shells when eating them to keep them from getting all over. I prefer the ranch or BBQ ones quite nicely. Makes me almost wishing I had some as well.

While I don't hate them, I don't particularly like eating sunflower seeds. I guess what I mean is that they're okay but I won't go out of my way to eat them or anything. I don't know why but I guess that's just one taste that I was never able to acquire. I don't know if she still does or not but I remember my sister used to love eating sunflower seeds.

I do not care for them but my brothers and my boyfriend love them. Now I do like pecans and peanuts a lot but sunflower seeds are not for my tasting. I see them in the store all the time too. If you want some you should get some for sure! Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.

Sometimes it's just finding the right ingredients to add to make them taste good to you. I like just salt on mine, and you can find them pre-salted at the store. They are very delicious, atleast in my opinion. I've had pumpkin seeds before myself. I hope you can find a good way to eat sunflower seeds to your liking! I appreciate the response, as well, I might add.

To be honest, I don't think I've seen them chocolate coated. Not sure if I'd like them or not but if I find some I might just give them a try. I appreciate you responding, I never would have known if you hadn't! Have a wonderful and lovely day, and yes I do agree the flowers are lovely.

I love sunflower seeds to but my favorite thing to eat right now is boiled peanuts. Oh and jerky of any kind really. I grew up eating peanuts in the south everyone eats them. Matter of fact I think I'll go get me some in a little while.
