Hello mylotters,
I have been on a diet now for about four months. I have seen extreme results. I lost 30 pounds and went from a size 14 to a size 7. I was wondering how many of you have lost weight or want to lose weight, and how much? If you need any tips to get you started let me know, id be glad to help.

That's brilliant oscar6. Are you starving yourself or have you just changed your eating habits. I started dieting four weeks ago and I have lost eight pounds. My diet consisted of just cutting out all the snack foods and eating healthier meals. Unfortunately I don't like vegetables so I eat fruit instead. I might eat rubbish for one day at the weekend - couldn't give it up altogether! Keep up the good work but don't overdo it and if you have any tips that you would like to share, please send them to me in a pm. I would really appreciate it.

well thank you alexandria. I am not starving myself at all. In the beginning I was hungry but as my body got used to the cut in calories I get full easily now. I would suggest keeping a food journal. Put in it what food you ate, when you ate it, how many calories, and how you were feeling at the time. I did this and it helped me keep track of my calories. I started with a 1300 calorie diet and now am on a 1200 calorie diet. I checked to see how much I should be consuming on webmd.com. This site is free and it really helped me lose the weight. i also post on the forums to get support.
Another good tip is to not cut out foods that you enjoy.Just limit portion sizes. Instead of eating a whole bag of your favorite potato chips try just eating a few.

lol you can still eat and lose weight... in fact you can still eat the foods you enjoy as well. If you are a snackaholic, like me, it would be very hard to cut out these foods completely. I suggest keeping them in your diet just eat less. Instead of eating a whole bag of something eat one serving of it. Also by eating healthier foods such as veggies and fruit you can eat more without going over calories. If you would like more tips you can pm me I would love to share them. im kind of a diet junkie and love talking about this kind of stuff.
Best,

Wow. That's an impressive loss.
I'm not trying to lose weight, although I am trying to eat healthier. Are you still doing the same diet or have you switched to something else to maintain your weight rather than lose it?

I know people that went from like. 270 to like. 150ish or possibly a bit more. Raelly their secret was just drinking a lot of water, doing a bit of exercise a day, and well. That was about it. most of them did it in like a year's time. Apparently it's not too hard and they weren't those kind of "fast metabolism" kind of people, either.

Hello there!! First of all, congratulations to you! I've lost some weight myself, though I gained back a few pounds, so I am trying to lose weight again, but only about 1-2 kilos. Actually the last time I lost weight, it was mostly through dieting. The exercises I did were only brisk walking on the treadmill and doing sit ups, both of which I haven't done in a while. This time though I want to really firm up, and lose a bit of weight on the side. I want to work out, though I have never done so before, so I have no idea where to start. I want to go to the gym, but if there are other alternatives, I'd like to try them out too. I'd appreciate some advice from you if you have any! :)

Since january I have lost 18kg (about 40 pounds). I was very out of shape, having spent a long time in a job where I sat at a desk all day. I had a very bad diet as well.
I used to compete in several sports, and decided I wanted to get in shape and go back to doing this. I have been going to the gym 3-4 times a week, and eating much healthier food. It is definately working.
I want to lose another 10kg by the end of the year.

Wow, 30 pounds in 4 months. That is great. Congrats.
I am eating better then I was and exercising more and regularly. I feel a ton better. I have done many diets in the past and lost weight but this time I am trying to change my habits. Id like to lose the weight and keep it off forever.

I started Weight Watchers back in October and I have lost 42 pounds. I have about 60 pounds left to lose. I haven't really been hungry as they teach you how to make better eating choices. Its a great system that has really worked for me. I have also starting exercising 6 days a week. Congrats on your weight loss.

I want to lose about 30 pounds! So to hear your success story definitely inspires me to make my own! Do you care to share any of your techniques?
My big thing is depriving; which is kind of sad. I eat about 1,200 calories a day and not a smidgen more; and I try to exercise at least half an hour a day. It's been working pretty well for me so far! I've lost about 4 pounds so far in the past week. So it's going pretty well for me so far, but I don't really have any tips to share - other than to cut back on food & exercise more. I would love to hear any diet tips you have, though!
