Sometimes we get the doubt which does the act of thinking. Is it the heart or the mind? It is definitely the mind which does the act of thinking. That is why mind gets the name 'citta' when it does the act of thinking. Citta is a sanskrit word.

Mind has the ability to think. but it can think anything - positive and negative. its impact on us is very decisive. mind needs to be trained to dwell on those thoughts that brings happiness, prosperity. Mind is like a money jumping from one branch to another without any particular aim. it moves from one state to another without much difficulty. that is why it needs to be guided and controlled to ones' welfare at all times.

The mind is the only part of us capable of thinking. When we refer to our hearts, it's strictly metaphorical, and we are referring to emotional thoughts. Mental activity is present only in the brain; that's where our minds are.

I don't think it matters - it's always the mind doing the thinking. I view the heart as a subset of the mind. Some people posit them as two separate entities, but really it's still your brain feeling, you know? Chemical reactions through neural pathways (or something like that) are emotions... and thoughts!
The whole idea of the heart being the center of feeling comes from ancient beliefs, such as the Egyptians (or maybe the Greeks?) who believed the brain was nothing more than a cooling organ and the heart is where all thought took place.

This is a very good question.
I believe it is possible that both the brain and the heart are a part of the mind or thoughts. Perhaps the heart is what motivates us to think the way we do in the first place and the brain is the final desicion maker. Maybe the brain balances the heart's emotional drive with its logical and rational motivation.
It could also be possible that our thoughts are only produced by our brains with no influence of the heart at all. It is all according to how you perceive things. I suppose there is no definitive answer.

Well I quite agree that the mind is a thinker or is involve in thinking but the fact must be stated that the needs to be trained to think right/positively.The mind is always bombarded with thoughts, some negative, some positive the choice is ours.My advice is let the mind dwell on the positives.
