a white wedding dress used to symbloize purtiy and virginity. Many people like a white wedding dress now for traditional purposes, i have got my wedding dress already and it is ivory, just off white, i chose not to get white as I have a child and one on the way therefore i am not pure to the church.

actually, white dresses are a fairly recently developed tradition that has just stuck.
until recent history, most people wouldn't have a wedding dress as such.
they would wear either the best dress they owned, or if they could afford it would buy a dress for the occasion, which would then be worn on other occasions in normal life.
so the white wedding dress was a symbol of status. it was showing off, basically, to the guests that you could afford to buy a special dress for the occasion that would probably not be worn again, as it was so expensive to produce a true white cloth, and difficult to maintain it's colour.
so basically it was to display to other people.
you could afford a special dress for the occasion that you might not wear again
purity has nothing to do with it. it originates in a rather vulgar display of wealth.

the white dress is traditional. It's a way of symbolizing purity, along with the veil. another symbol for it was the crown made out of orange flowers.
Usually in those types of ceremony, everything has a meaning.
