Things to remember when being a good employee is to never be late. Being on time shows the company they can depend on you. Be respectful to co-workers and management. Remember the customer is always right even if you think they are not. Always let managment take care of sticky situations. Dress and groom your best you represent a company and yourself. Keep busy and work hard show your manager your worthy of a raise or promotion. Offer a helping hand even one is not asked of you this shows respect and dedication. Be kind and curtious to everyone even if you don't like them. It may even change their additude about you in general. Don't talk bad about other employees this could get you in trouble and you could be labled a gossip queen Noone wants that.

Amen to everything you said. I was always the good employee but the gossip in the workplace drove me nuts. I now work at home. Alot of the other employees did not do their job either.

These are very good suggestions. I would also suggest that you always go to work early even just 10 minutes or so. Also if you have a problem that you need to discuss with your boss, remember to always have a possible solution, not just a problem.
