What do you remember most about it?
I have never slept in a tent outside, but I have gone camping. I have slept in a lodge and have slept in RV's.
The first time I camped out was with girl scouts. I hated it, because our first job was cleaning out the latrine. Yucky! I was 9 years old. I hated sleeping in the bunk beds.
Now we go camping and rent a trailer. One day I am hoping we can get up a pop-up trailer so we can do more camping each year.

Yeah ive gone camping before even though I havnt gone since I was a kid. Im not really into camping all that much dont like sleeping outside. I find it kind of boring but if I had a girl with me then I would probally enjoy my self a lot more and it would be pretty fun.

Why do people that sleep in a cabin or RV call it camping? Why is that much different than staying home? I can understand going on vacation in an RV or staying at a cabin or motel, but I wouldn't call it camping.
We went camping all the time when I was a kid, most every weekend in the summer, then for a week or two usually mid-July. We were always in a tent, nothing fancy.
I haven't done a lot of sleeping outside since then; a few times during my 21+ years in the Marine Corps (one time for three months in the desert in California!), and a few times when I went hunting in MN, and two years ago up here in OH during Memorial Day weekend with a bunch of friends.

My sister and I used to camp outside our home. We set up our tent on the grounds near our dad's garage and we sleep there for the whole night. What we used as a bed was the huge airbed that it almost occupied the the entire tent. One time while we were inside the tent looking at the stars above, we felt like it was one of the best sister bonding moments we've ever had, sharing stories, giggling and shouting. It was fun!

Who hasn't slept outside? Seriously. It's fun, usually. Sometimes there are too many bugs, or the weather really sucks, but other than that it's quite enjoyable to go out and be away from everything else.
Also, what is the point in taking a pop-out trailer? Thats not really sleeping outside. It's sleeping in a portable home, which is basically like sleeping in an uncomfortable house. I think if you are going to go camping, it should be in tents. Otherwise, it's not really camping.

You should try winter camping. I did it many years ago with two of my high school buddies. We spent 2 nights in the middle of winter in a tent. If I remember correctly, it reached as low as 20 below with the windchill factor at night and reached as high as 20 above zero during the day. It was an experience and a half.

I've not camped in those sort of tempratures, but it got down to - 7 deg C sometimes when I was on the boat. I was a snug as a bug in a rug in my floating wooden tent, though I was disturbed in the night by floating ice hitting the hull and I also found in the morning that the hatch was frozen shut and my drinking water was frozen solid as well. Not a problem, I found that the kettle was full of water (frozen solid) so I just heated that up and used it to thaw out the drinking water.

I have not slept in tents and camping. I wish I had. I have slept in the garden of my friend's house and our family house and had good time. I think it was one of the time I had felt close to the nature. I have slept in the floor with a mat outside the garden with lots of trees and green nature I think it was real fun.

I've camped in a tent many times and I've also slept out in the open without a tent. I don't regard sleeping in bunk beds or a RV as camping either. I also lived on a boat for several years which might be considered camping in a floating tent That had it's moments, especially the night when a gale tore the moorings out of the river bank and I woke up to find myself bobbing about in the middle of the river!

Yes. I have sleot outside a few times in a tent. I remember it was damp and hot alot of times and I heard alot of noises. We started camping in a camper and it was much nicer.

I was a girl scout also when I was in my elementary and high school years. We also do camping and we sleep in a tent. It is fun but it is really so disturbing when you want to sleep but you need to wake up because the tent is full of water due to heavy rains.

Ya I have outside under the stars on two or three occasions now. Once I had gone camping with my students some 50 kilometres away from the city where I live. There we had put up tents. But we had gone in winter and it was so cold that I did not move away from the bonfire. We slept on the ground near the bon fire to keep our selves warm looking at the sky and the stars.
Second time I had gone to a village enroute to a lake where we were going to have a bird watching session. We were having a sleepover in the village. The houses were built far far away. The house was small and we decided to sleep out instead. It was wonderful. My cot was right overlooking the rose farm.
It was so much fun sleeping in the open air

I slept outside in open when me and my family went to our village . It was a lovely experience and scary too. I loved the open sky without any clouds . It looks more clear infact crystal clear when you in village because there the sky is not filled with all dusty and polluted clouds . I was able to million of stars . But mosquitoes made it tough to sleep lol and also the scary howling sounds of the wolf was enough to keep me awake whole night . But it was very nice experience , you can almost smell the aroma of wind there , its just so different and fresh as compared to city sir.
And its just heaven to hear the whirling sound of wind moving tress .

This brings back memories- both good and bad. I very much enjoyed telling bed time stories around the camp fire. Of course there was the toasting of marsh mellows with chocolate. I've never met a person who did not have a sweet tooth.
All that being said, I do not miss the rain and cold of sleeping outside. The worse part is sleeping next to my father who would always snore.

I've slept under open sky and in a tent (on cots and the ground). I love it, actually. The stars, the fresh air...just being out in nature. Ah. It's wonderful. I sleep better and not as long as I do when I don't have insomnia, too. It's brilliant.
Fresh air makes food taste better too, and I just overall feel better when I can sleep outside.

I've just recently had my first camping trip and I was with my family. We put up a tent beside the river and it was really awesome. We had s'mores at night by the campfire. Then the next morning we went up to the huge waterfall it was amazing!
Thinking about it makes me want to go camping again.

Yes we used to sleep on the terrace our our building in summers. It was a nice experience the wind used to be very cool and we used to have a sound sleep.I have gone for camps so even there we used to sleep in open with nothing to cover us except the open skies and the twinkling stars:)

When I graduated, and I was looking for a job. One day, I got an interview.
The interview was at 1:00 PM, and there are too many people attend this interview.
I waited for a long time, when I finished it was too late, and there was no bus,
and I don't have enough money to get in hotel.
so I have to slept outside. This is my first time slept outside :)
