Im watching a game show and everytime the host introduce her partner, she always said the handsome guy. He is not that goodlooking but he is funny, he has a good sense of humor. The host said, its conditioning, that everytime she tell him, he is handsome, people will get used to it until everybody believe that he is good looking. Do you believe in positive thinking, they said if you want something, picture it in your mind and tell yourself everytime and it will come true. i also saw it in the documentary film "The Secret".

Its true. I also do believe in positive thinking. When I was younger, I think that I am the ugliest person in the world but my former teacher has taught me to smile and to think positive. It works for me, I may not be the most beautiful person physically but everything changes when I smile. Everyone thinks that I am a wonderful person inside and out which I didn't realize when I was younger. Positive thinking is also the way of the Law of Attraction to attract abundance in life.

Yes I do believe in the power of positive thinking. Steve Goodier once wrote in one of his article that "One of your greatest assets is...your imagination!" In his article he described about a basketball team that was divided into three groups. The first group was told not to shoot free throws for a month. The second was to practice shooting free throws in the gym in the afternoon for a month, while the last group was instructed to "imagine" shooting free throws for an hour for a month. At the end of the month, group one free throw average decreased, but group two and three both increased their average by about two percent. This just shows that in everything we do both mental practice, wherein we envision our success or positive thinking, and physical practice are both important. Steve Goodier further discussed that we should imagine success, envision it, and in the long run we will find out that things really did change in our lives for the better. He closed the article by quoting on Anatole France saying "To know is nothing at all, to imagine is everything." "Whatever you desire begins in the mind. You can imagine what will FOLLOW!" ____________ To read more of Steve Goodier's works, visit: http://LifeSupportSystem.com.

Well that's an interesting thing to do. For me, i do believe in positive thinking because i feel that by thinking optimistically, it does give me some sense of encouragement indirectly. Thinking in the positive way can make us feel and believe that things are not too bad afterall, there's still hope. In the case you mentioned as example, since the host always says hte guy is handsome, i think this will somehow give him more confident in himself and thus indirectly encourages him to do something to make himself better. So, this is the power of positive thinking i guess, and on the other hand if one thinks things in negative ways, then all the bad things will start coming in too and the bad predictions will come true in the end.

why would other people would care about what the host's opinion would be. yes, i do believe in the positive thinking. i guess its not being positive thinking saying things that are not as though it is. its just that maybe in this situation the host has a diffirent perspective of saying that the guy she is working is handsome. Because when we talk of beaut people have different standards.

I think that if you keep on telling yourself that you are handsome, you won't care about others' negative comments on your appearance and that gives you confidence. Same applies to anything else. If you think you are capable of doing something and tell yourself that you are, you probably would be more enjoy doing it (because you feel that you can have it done finally) and than you can have better chance of success. Now, of course it is not as simple as "If you think you can, you can", but at least it is "If you think you can't, you really can't"
