How I was able to lose 46.2 lbs by playing Wii Fit, among boxing and walking, becoming a world champion in the progress...
Guide to Lose Weight and Show How to Get a Real Workout from Wii Fit
There has been various conflicting reports can you get a real workout with Wii Fit and if so how. I want to show you all the methods that worked with me of my quest of losing 46.2 lbs of my weight.
My before and after photo: http://www.kolumbus.fi/luodes/Laihdutus.jpg
As you can see there was immense difference and I am here to tell how it happened.
At back in year June 2007 I wanted to start again practicing fitness boxing but I had hypermobility in my joints and because of that neck pain and problems. I also had asthma and Tourette Syndrome. I registered to http://www.presidentschallenge.org/ fitness program of USA government which gives you points and awards for exercising and keeps you motivated. I started slowly and slowly doing shadow boxing (punching air) and I increased the amount and speed bit by bit, my neck started to handle it.
I was on purpose for walking everyday with pedometer for 10 thousand steps. I trained and trained. I started loosing weight. I was able to punch for 40 minutes air without ill effects. Then I started to do addition of punching air, I started to punch focus pad and other stationary targets. I did place the focus pad next to a wall for fist durability and resistance. I did Olympic Drills which in essence is a High Intensity Drill, you go as fast you can ever go, think about 100 meters runners running less than 10 seconds with full speed, with Olympic Drill, I did punch for one minute as fast I could and then was totally exhausted, then I kept a break and did do that again. For five times.
Then came Wii Fit for Nintendo Wii on end of April 2008. I had lost around 7 kgs or 15.4 lbs. With Wii Fit I was very interested in the Free Jogging (Free Run) in the game. It was great, I enjoyed it much. The great benefit from Wii Fit that I went every day to the Balance Board scale and checked my weight. I could notice which was working and which was not for weight adjustment, I could plan and set goals and work for those. I started to eat less, by less often and halving the amount of certain foods which I ate. Trying to ate only when hungry.
Me and my friends in Wii Fit Free Run (Free Jogging) did find a style. A great way to exercise and thing which would really much save your knees. Doing really short motion with your legs, really small lift of your feet from the ground and up and down, you go as fast you can. The tempo would be crucial. Try it, start shaking your both arms as fast you can in any direction, you notice how tiring it gets, do it on place by stomping of feet.
By studying this style and training, I was able to get the official Wii Fit Free Jogging World Record for 30 min by 16484 meters and get to the video gaming Official Hall of Fame: www.twingalaxies.com/images/generalinfo/hall_of_fame_wrk/Medallion-Hall_of_Fame_PEKKA_LUODESLAMPI_800.jpg
So addition of winning a world record in a fitness video game. I trained more and more. I purchased heavy bags and I got a 100 lbs (45 kg) one to mainly train with. I was able to punch it for 40 minutes. My fitness, skills and powers increased. I started to punch so hard that I once broke the metallic o-ring that did hold the bag and it did drop the floor and my punching power was strong enough that my photo did got to a Finnish Boxing Magazine (www.boxingmagazine.fi)

I sought more goals, I did ran Wii Fit Marathon, which was jogging two hours in place which was noticed in Finnish media and shown on direct Internet TV broadcast.
One day I tried to test how much I can walk and in a day I walked for over 50000 steps which is about as much as walking 40 km or 25 miles... So from Fat Man I become a Fitness Man.
So for you all, don't let people set you down, keep making goals, goals that are possible to attain, baby steps and progress for those. Inch by inch. In the end I lost 14 kg another kgs more (30.8 lbs) to March 2009. Which put my weight loss at 21 kg/46.2 lbs.
I even tested Wii Fit Free Jogging with a heart rate monitor. I was able for 30 minutes jog by doing the short steps style and waving by body left and right and using arm swing (Different technique than the world record style, this is for hard workout.) and my average heart rate was 162! My max ever tested is 185 before... So Wii Fit gives incredible workout! Here is my statistics for that workout: www.kolumbus.fi/luodes/30min.CSV So I wish all of you a great success and keep going hard for it and you will succeed!
