This is the most ridiculous thing Ive ever heard. A teenage boy is suspended for going to his girlfriend's prom. His school forbids dancing, rock music, and holding hands.I'll let you read the article and tell me what you think. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30669405/?GT1=43001

Private schools have their own rules. If a child can't or won't abide by those rules then their parent's shouldn't have their child enrolled it that school. If he want's to live by public school rules, then let him go to public school. I don't necessarily agree with the rules, but I do believe that the school has a right to decide on their rules. The families have a right not to send their child to that school.

Yeah you do have a point. And plus he was warned of what would happen. I think his school is too strict but they can enforce their own rules because its a private school and they aren't receiving funds from the government. I don't see any harm in what he did and he didn't represent the school in a bad way. His parents really should have considered other possible school choices before sending him there.

It is absolutely ridiculous! Holding hands and a pop kiss are things that are involved in being a teen... it's part of life and growing up. I don't see how a school can dictate what a teenager does if their parents are in agreement to what they are doing and it isn't anything illegal or harming anyone else.

Yeah I totally agree. He hasn't done anything shameful or illegal. He seems like a decent young man. There are more important things to suspend students for. I see worse things during the school day at my school.

This is really ridiculous. I've heard of being suspended for other things, but not for going to your girlfriend's prom. This is a really stupid reason for being suspended. I don't understand this reasoning. It just doesn't make sense to me.
