Debt after school...and regret

When I was young they told me to go to the best school possible. That debt didn't matter. That it was all about getting the education I wanted. I went to a good academic school, and had a good time there. But now I am finished, and after 3 years still have 30,000 dollars of student loan debt. Interest is low, but at this much, even 5% interest is a lot. I want to travel, and do a lot of things. But debt is dragging me down. I now regret my decision. I could have gone to a less expensive school, and been where I am now, without debt, and with more available opportunities because of that.
Is anyone else in a similar situation?
Do you think the high debt associated with private schools is really worth it?

Well, let me first say, don't regret your decisions. You had a good time, and I'm not doubting you'll get out of the mess you think you're in.
Could've, would've, should've doesn't really matter now :P
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my life yet, but imo.. I don't think the high debt is worth it, in my situation of course. For other's it is, but for me, I may be getting into writing and I'm sure I can get myself in without paying too much :)
