Hi there myLot friends,This is how you do it ......
Anyone out there who wants to quit smoking?
Here's probably how to do the trick.
I started smoking in 1997. I just decided last Sunday to QUIT!
I just wanted to quit! I have been very courageous because it is not
an easy task when you feel this urge to smoke.
The smell of espresso makes me die to light a cigarette.
You know the feeling, don't you?
I made some computations last night, just for fun.
Well I consume a pack a day รก $5 x 7days= $35
52 weeks/year 52 x $35= $1820/year!That's A lot of money to feed the hungry,
educate the poor, keep the atmosphere clean, keep my health & breath PRIMO!
It ain't that bad ha? If you are still smoking or want to quit smoking,
we can help one another by encouraging each other perhaps?
Think about it .... Hope to hear from you soon?

I think it is a very good thing when you can quit smoking.
My husband quit smoking 4 years ago. He quit cold turkey while smoking 4 packs a day. Can you imagine how expensive that would be right now?
I also quit a little after he did. I had encouraged him so much to quit that I figured I may as well join him nad I am so glad I did.
It is amazing how much better you feel and how much better your breathing is. Alot of people don/t like to quit becasue they say it will make them gain weight....well maybe it does make you gain a few pounds but with your lungs healing everyday you don't smoke will give you more energy to exercise and take the weight off you may have gained from not smoking.
Great job and keep up the good work!!!!

Hi flutterbkisses,
I am happy you made it guys! Congratulations.
I did not feel bad about my smoking actually.
I take my daily 2 hours walks by the sea.
My stamina is even better than my friends who do not smoke at all.
I just felt it's about time to quit and think of my character.
I am still dieing to have a puff with my espresso every morning!
It's still a long way to go. I am taking it day by day.
Mind you this morning I wanted just to rush and buy a packet of cig.
I am holding on to my discipline ..... puff puff puff
Thank you for your response.

Believe me there were times I myself was tempted to go and buy a pack too, but I just tried to get my mind on something else and before long I had again forgot about them.
It gets easier with each passing day!!!!!

I don't smoke or never smoked but I know the feeling of breaking a habit. It's not easy. So I want to commend you for your courage to do it. Your tactic is simple but seems effective judging from your post. I hope it lasts. You can also add up all the years you smoked and be amazed at how much bigger you can save from now on.

Yea, I know it's too early but it really is a good technic for breaking a bad habit, right?
Kudos for your fund-raising goal. Please let us know how you are getting along.

Hi Jemina,
I am actually doing well on my 12th day.
It is too soon to calculate my goal though.
But I am very proud to raise $60 for the Save the Children.
Who knows I might be able to fund a good school for the deaf & blind
children.
Thanks for your reply.

Hi magicalmerlin,
Thank you for encouraging me.
I also wish to invite the smokers to take an abrupt choice as I did
not for health reasons nor savings.
For the main cause of fund raising to help the children of the world!
I am on my 11th day today! I am having a tough time but I am still determined.
11 x 5 = $55 to Save the Children!
Thank you for your response

it's great that you are trying to make an healthy life choice! and the money you'll stop spending, and therefore, saving, is a great little extra.inspiration!
however, it's only been a week, so don't get too excited, the worst is yet to come! there are many people who manage to quit for a couple of weeks, and then get back to their old habit, my parents are among them!
just keep trying! reach your rainbow!
happy my lotting foisgras!

Dear catarina_rg,
I am very determined when I choose to do something.
But of course the risk of falling down the drain is very possible to happen.
Today when I saw the jar $55 in it to be donated to Save the Children, this one excites me most. There is no turning back to smoking.
I will make it! T
Thank you for your reply.

I am sure glad I quit, Cigerettes are $5.00 a pack that is way to much for cigerretes. You will definely save some money. I hope you do decide to quit you can do it, it is mind over matter. You have to have a strong will power. Do you have strong will power?

I am very thankful to got that i don't have a habit of smoking but all or most of my friends are smokers and they enjoy their habit of smoking. This is good at your part that you quit smoking and i would say that everybody should quit it to save the nature and the atmosphere. I have heard it somewhere that smoking put more affect to the people who is sitting next to or in front of a smoker. so if i am not smoking, i am getting affected. I don't think smoking can be vanished but it can be reduced to some extent...

Hi patialvi,
Oh I still have my puffing friends around.
They do not demoralize me because I quit smoking for a cause.
Right you are with your comments regarding nature, health, etc.
NO I do not think so either that smoking will vanish completely.
Thank you for your reply.

Good for you! :) I started smoking on the same year you did. THere are times that I can survive a week or two without it, but to totally take it away from my system would be a big step.
QUITTING is best. Not only are you saving yourself a lot of money, but you're also doing something good for your body and the people around you who has to deal with your second hand smoke. :) I admire the will power you have to actually do this. Quitting is really hard. I advise you not do abruptly because you might suffer from withdrawal. That'll be totally normal but you can lessen the discomfort if you did it slowly. You can also try replacing the habit with something more productive.
I hope this helped you. More power to you. Good day.

Dear netpabelonio,
I guess I just wanted to stop because it was the right moment.
It is more of the principle to do it when I have decided it.
You are right It takes a lot of will power.
This is what I am aiming at actually not the quitting of smoking.
Oh yes the withdrawal is horrible at time.
My espresso smells cig and my cig smells expresso!
Not to mention my Cognac.
Anyway discipline, character and will power is my aim!
Thanks and keep track of me will yah?

Hi foisgras, Welldone my friend that is a very hard thing to do. I don,t think i could if them up. Already i smoked 10 a few mins ago my dam laptop crashed mybe its all in my head
but i feel i can think better with a smoke. I did try a few times i tried to take one a hour but i found myself looking at the clock all the time so i went back on them as normal. I agree with you about the money you save here in ireland a 20 pack is E8.25 so i would save a good bit if i could give them up all the best and i hope it works for you happy myloting.
