Study of God's law and you. How good you really are and can you compare yourself to other people. From Law to Grace. Judgment to Gospel.
Pages 1-3
There are immensely evil men indeed and deserving of a righteous judgment. There are many of such people, even going to the depths of darkness of Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin.
Many times people can say, that I am better than someone, I am not like Hitler and Stalin, and yes that is true. Indeed few can match those. But here comes the catch, we differ in magnitude, not in quantity.
Lets take a example, there are two murders in USA, first killed one person, the second killed ten, the penalty is capital punishment. They die for what they have done... They did commit same crime, same quantity but different magnitude.
Lets look few of God's commandments:
”Exodus 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.” That means, not lying surely we have lied, which makes us liars.
”Exodus 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.” I have surely taken something that has not belong to me, things like Internet piracy are things like that too. So we are thieves.
”Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.” Jesus (God in the flesh) clarifies this:””Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” So if we even lust after some one then we have sinned I can certainly testify of doing that. So we are adulterers.
That was only three commandments of ten and we were guily all of those. Sure there are people who have done more those bad things than us but it is only in magnitude, our quantity is still the same. We have broken the law.
”James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
Page 2.
Like the murderer who killed one person, he was just as guilty as the person who killed ten, both got the death penalty.
”Romans 3 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
So likewise all of us have sinned against the Holy God our creator who is perfect and has never sinned and since he is righteous he cannot stand for sin.
What God would require of us if we would to be accepted by our own works would be perfection. Not even one sin even once it is also sin if you know to do good and do not do it.
Thus there is only good person in universe that is God, he is always perfect and has kept the law since he is author of it, it is his standard what is right and wrong.
”Mark 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God””
There is none else who is perfect:
”Romans 3:10 As it is written There is none righteous, no, not one:”
God is like a just judge, he is absolutely perfect and he has to judge righteosly otherwise he too would be evil. Evil deeds deserve a punishment.
Since man commits sin, there is only logical conclusion, that is punishment. When person dies without their sins being forgiven he goes for pay them but since man by his nature is evil, he cannot never pay for them. He goes to endure the punishment forever! It will never end! He pays the ultimate death penalty, he goes to Hell. Hell is place deep inside earth in total darkness where you will burn forever in flames of torment, you will be literally on fire, forever and forever in constant pain, it never going away. Worms will devour your body, maggots will crawl in you and you shout in pain and want to be forgiven but you still burnand burn, scream in pain and the SUFFERING WILL BE ENDLESS! You remember all the moments which you had in your life to be forgiven, to be right, and you will be forever sad for your gravest act of rebellion The Hell is immediately when you die.
”Luke 16:22-23 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.” Story of a rich man who died and immediatly after death he was in Hell, in torments((You can see the((s) plurity, the torments are many.)
It is the real death, the separation of you from God eternally:
”Revelation 20:14-15 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
And that moment of beginning of eternal suffering could be at any moment...
”James4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
Page 3.
Nobody of us has any guarantee that they will even live through the day, death is sudden, the moment when it strikes it is too late.
But what if I would be good enough, I would turn over a new leaf, start living better, seek to do good. Would I then be accepted.
The answer is: ”Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
God is righteous judge, even if you would live from this point absolutely perfectly onwards (Which we both know is impossibility.,, you would still have to pay for your sin. Think about those Nazi war criminals and their holocaust, they could say to the judge but I was good, did give money to the charity, I loved my family, I was kind and gentle neighbor, the judge would practically laugh him out of the court or or just get really angry. No amount of good works can outweigh bad works, if you kill somebody, he is not brought back to life no matter how good you try to be there is still the justice and judgment, law and order.
Being perfect is impossible for man.
And to be bluntly honest:
”Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind have taken us away.”
We are all totally evil, wicked and bad, it is our nature, we are not good, we are evil. We are not polluted by few bad works now and there, we do it because it is our nature.
”Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
”Psalms 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.”
Think about a small child, you have teach him to speak the truth he lies by his nature, all of us even when born are wicked, selfish, totally corrupt. If it would not so then surely there would be many perfect men but no not still all of us are bad...
But God knows that our deeds are worthless, we cannot do anything to pay for our sin, he knows that we deserve go to Hell and burn there forever.
”Psalms 44:21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth thesecrets of the heart.”
God knows all Since we are sinners we cannot pay for our sin we are totally unacceptable in any way for pay anything since only thing that we deserve is death, it is our payment but here is the hope:
”Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
God did device a plan even before the world was created to save us from our sin, we are slaves of it.
John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

We are not Hitlers and we are not Stalins we are humans. Hitler and Stalin were aberations from the norm. They were most likely Amoral which means that they had no ability to feel remorse and had little conscious ability to care about right and wrong.
You also quoted part of the ten commandments. "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." This is in fact lying about someone. In the Oral Law of the Israelite people we are taught that this is partial murder because this is killing a part of the person that you lied about. They can never truly get back their reputation. There will always be doubt in the community about whatever the lie was about. Now, you have a better picture as to why this is a serious offense.
You also mentioned the commandments dealing with theft and adultery. There are also Midrashes dealing with these commandments. However, the point of the commandments that you and most christians miss is this. The first three commandments are G'd's commandments. The rest are mankind's commandments. If you break the first three, you must ask forgiveness of G'd. If you break the last seven, you must ask forgiveness of the person that you harmed. G'd does not forgive you if you take a man's wife. You must make amends to the husband and the wife. If you steal, you must pay back twice the amount that you stole. This is the teachings of the Torah. Read a little further and you will discover this is so.
Isaiah always wrote very emphatically. He wanted the Israelites to tow the line in all things and was dealing with very rebellious people. That does not mean that humans are really evil and bad. He was always angry because the Israelites were constantly backsliding into paganism. If you really knew your history, you would know this and know what Isaiah was really refering to. He did not mean that humans were evil.
