Is mylotting hard for you?

Some members have over 10,000 posts. Others that are just starting barely have a hundred. Then there are those in between. I've seen some members start a discussion almost daily and others who are not even active here any more. Most just come to myLot when they have the time.
So when you do come to myLot, how easy or hard is it for you to post a discussion or response? Do you need some time to think or can you start typing as soon as you see a discussion you like? Do you look up words in a dictionary or thesaurus or write a rough draft in a word document and then copy and paste it?

Its not been hard. It is a freelance work. You write posts, start new discussions when you want, how many you want. Some mylot members have done thousands of posts. They either have been mylotting for very long or they work regularly submitting 10s of posts everyday.

I find it hard to start successful discussions and to comment using proficient English. I use an online dictionary without it my online experience would be a hell. :P I'm btw curious how long it took before a 10.000+ user reached that amount. ;)

Starting a successful discussion is a hard task for everyone. I see that you are from the Netherlands and I think your English is very good.
I think it took those users a very long time to reach 10,000+ posts. Many of those members with that many posts have been here for a very long time. Just keep up the good work and you will be there in no time.

I have to agree with you. It maybe hard at first, however once you start doing it more often, it becomes easier to deal with. I too am a newbie and started just yesterday.

Sometimes Mylotting is hard for me. I often don't have anything to say. On those days, I don't start discussions, just answer them. Answering is easier for me. I try to come here most days, but, of course, sometimes things come up and I can't log on.

Answering is easier for many people (as you can tell from this discussion.) And I think that is okay. Just do what is comfortable for you. If you want to have real conversations on mylot, then being able to respond to discussions and continuing the discussion is an important skill. Happy mylotting!

it is hard for me to post discussion or response as English is not my native language. when i want to post a new discussion or response, i need to write a draft and think it over and over again. Frankly speaking, i come here is not only for the money, the second reason is that i want to practise my written English and learn some expression.

That is a great way to practice your writing skills in English, and on top of that be able to get pay while you learn. What a great idea to help yourself along.. Your english is really good for being your second langage!! Keep up the good work.

I'm one of those in between members. LOL I currently have just over 4700 posts. Even though I've been here for over 2 years now I don't consider it too shabby (though there are members who have been here for about the same length of time with a lot more posts under their belt). I mylot when I can (usually at night) and only respond to a handful of discussions, if not a little more when I log in. I try to be here every day, though I have missed a few days here and there. With having a life outside mylot I can't spend all day here. It also doesn't help that I'm on dial-up!
I'll admit, sometimes I need some time to think out my response, before posting it. Especially if I go into a heated discussion, which is rare. I've seen some bitterness between fellow mylotters because they don't cool off before responding to a discussion. Personally, I'd rather keep it civil.
I have looked up words in the dictionary every now and then. I may not be familiar with the word (or words) and I look them up to be certain. I also tend to type out my discussions/responses in a separate program and then copy and paste it onto mylot (or vise versa). I've lost a few discussions/responses before I hit the 500 mark, and some of them were rather long and thought out. It was very frustrating to say the least. So now since I can use the copy and paste feature I make it a habit to use it every single time so that it doesn't happen again.

i dont get a lot of time to post on mylot. i do like to read the discussions. if , like now, i am really interested, i just type straight on to the screen and post straight away. i would like more time, perhaps one day.....

I generally only get the time to look at mylot once or twice a week, and because my time is limited, only respond to discussions that I think are interesting - which is of course entirely speculative!
I've started a few discussions, but tend to spend the time I do have responding to other people's discussions, rather than starting my own.

Most days I do not find it hard but then some days it seems like I cannot find discussions that spark my interest or if I do, I canot come up with enough to say. Today is one of those days. It could be because I don;t fel too good so I guess my thinking cap is not working too well. Hopefully when I come back to tomorrow I will be a bit more up on things.

It is not even four months I have been a member of mylot. But I am a die hard fan of it. Not that it gives me a lot of money but I like the friendship of the people across the globe and that I have been constantly developing in all spheres.
And therefore whenever I am on line first of all I go to mylot and see what is there and go to the scheduled one.

In the begining it was easy for me because I would start discussions that people responded too and there were other discussions that I had opinions on. For the last couple of days I haven't really found discussions that I could comment on and I really haven't started any discussions. I like mylot because it is so diverse and there are a thousand interests so hopefully I can come across something.

I haven't posted any discussion yet. I just participate in those already available. English is not my first language, but I don't have a problem using it.
But I do have one finding interesting discussion

I don't have any problems with British English but American English has me baffled sometimes
I land here and start commenting after reading notifiers that have arrived informing of responses or comments that I have received. That done I then come here to this interest and see if I can help out. I just type as if I was talking. I mae a lot of typos because I talk in a hurry too As long as it's fun and I find interesting topics I just keep on responding and commenting. I rarely start my own discussions but my old ones keep receiving responses so I can comment on them

I guess you hit the right day and the right topic for the users that were on when this one started snam! I see you hit the Digest too so you will have a lot of catching up tp do with it now.
Yes I don't start many at all (2 this month so far and 4 last month) but the topics never seem to go out of date and several are always receiving responses. I think it has a lot to do with commenting back to those who respond, which is something you also do too I keep telling you I'm to o busy to deal with that other thing and maybe now you can see what I mean - I'm always here!
Keep it up snam and get back to us whenever you can, even with the discussions you have without bringing up new ones. I have an idea that this topic of yours will never be out of date either!
You brought it on yourself so now you have to deal with it!

Mylotting is not hard for me.i never start discussions. Most of the time i respond to discussions.I just start discussions when i have doubts in my mind.I never need time when i read a discussion.I directly start to respond to a discussion that comes to my mind.If i have to add more lines i will think about it and then write the discussion slowly.Yes i have seen people with 10,000 posts.I am trying to reach there as soon as i can.

Writing a response is a pretty easy job for me but i find it difficult to have a consistent earning. I still can't figure out how to earn a least at a standard rate. I still don't know where to base my earnings. Making lots of responses helps but i just don't know when am i making too much of it or less. Sometimes i do look for words on the dictionary whenever i come across with words that are unfamiliar with me but i have to know the meaning to fully understand the thought of the paragraph.

I trouble to translate in not my native language, because if write it with wrong words then it can be wrong means. I don't get time to discuss, after I fix my computer today. When I visit the site too much I miss here. I cannot do copy-paste even I can, it would not my original post. Through word document can be mismatch if I don't read it.

You could have someone that speaks both your language and English write a discussion for you as you tell them your ideas in your native language. He or she would act sort of like a translator. Then it would still be an original post and perfectly suitable for copy and paste, which you are allowed at when you have over 500 posts.

Yes, It's allowed as long does not decline during the discussion. I no longer create a discussion, and only find suitable for everything what must I discuss. I cannot write a word that long because I am not smart in the discussions. With few words, make it easier for me to understand. I had to write one full page, but my computer stopped and eventually I succeeded in improving my computer's internet capability is also faster than previous. In fact the problem on the RAM, it get many error after I test it yesterday.

Starting and discussion is harder than posting responses, as it would take quite a bit of thinking to be able to come up with a discussion that would be of interest to most people. I started 3 of them, and didn't get much response, so for me it is much easier to just post responses to discussions already there. It doesn't take as mucht thinking on my part that way lol. I do enjoy mylot though, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I like the idea we can share opinions with others, and get paid for them too. You really can't beat that at all. Well, good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I have to agree with you, I find it is easier to respond then to write a good discussion. I don't get on here as often in fact it has been several years but since I am working online from home and doing school onlineI find I have some moments of the day when I can check in now on a more regular basis. I do enjoy sharing opinions with others and I think it is fun myself.

A discussion does not have to target everyone at mylot. That is a very hard task to achieve. If a discussion is interesting, it will naturally attract readers and posters. Don't give up on starting discussions. The more discussions you start, the more you'll learn what topics are popular and which ones aren't. Maybe you could set a goal for yourself of a discussion a month or something. This way you could start discussions and have time to think about it beforehand.
mylot is a great place and I'm glad we have all found it as it's a great place to share your opinions and get paid for it. Happy mylotting!

@angel: I think it's also great that we are paid for sharing our opinions and not flamed or banned for getting in very active and sometimes heated discussions. Often, there are a lot of debates that just go back and forth and I think it is great that myLot pays us for this.

Hello my friend,
MyLotting was pretty hard for me for the first few days that I decided to quit it.
Thank God I didn't do it. There were many friends out here, like you, who helped me earn here as well as on my blog.
I really thank you for that!!

Sorry for the late comment friends. I have been very busy and started this discussion on a Sunday night before school! Anyways, I can share similar experiences as I quit for a month or so after seeing my four cent earnings and inaccurately calculating that it would take 4000 posts for me to reach payout at the rate I was going. Good thing mysdianait was there to tell me otherwise!

Cheerio, Diana! I followed this from my email and wondered what Snam23 would have to comment on here. And now that you are here, thanks for referring me to him.
