Every time I drink water I get very cold. Even if the water is really warm. Is this normal? I have only started to drink water regulary within the past year, I always hated the feeling/taste of wet nothing in my mouth. I like to add flavor to it. I only get the really cold feeling when I drink just water. If it is juice or anything else I don't get cold. anyone have answers for me? Is there anything I can do to feel normal when I drink it?

I think drinking either plain water or with flavor is good. It depends on people's taste and interest. As long as our food and drink are good for our health, we can enjoy them with our favorite taste.

You should drink water every day, eight glasses a day they say. I just recently started to drink water, I drink eight glasses a day, just like they say to do, I am starting to like water more and more. You probably get cold because its something you don't like, and you probably wont ever like it until you are older because of your taste buds, they apparently need something to satisfy them other than something plain. I like water and soda. haha I actually hate flavored water most of the time, especailly lemon flavor. You should try soda water, its water with a fizz, its very good, and should be satisfying enough to drink.

this is really strange that you get this cold feeling when drinking water only with out any flavor of juice powder in it. anyways, i think that you should make it habit to drink water always. cause water is delicious and very much refreshing. i am very much addicted to water specially when the weather is hot . i could drink plain water as long as it does not have any metal taste in it. cause our faucet water taste bad. that is why i drink only bottled water. but that is not that good as the water before in our water when it is still safe to drink. anyways, many times i can skip eating meals but not drinking plain or unflavored water.

Maybe its only your instinct of drinking that has to be with flavor. Getting over your instinct of this might help..

For myself, personally I drink a lot of water a day. Water is not only important in hydrating our bodies, especially when being active or in the warm weather but it also helps make sure our organs are working well and it purifies any toxins that might be in our bodies such as soda and coffee that we have drank. The reason why you feel cold while drinking water is because it is your own body rejecting plain boring old water and saying no I don't want any of it. What I tend to do is put a piece of lemon or even an orange in the water and drink it that way with some flavor. This might help you out or if it doesn't they also sell flavored water and that might even be an option that you consider. Either way, the bottom line is that water is a vital part of living and 8 cups a day is what we should aim for. =)

In order for water to hydrate the body, it need not be at room temperature, or even at the same temperature as our bodies'. As a matter of fact, the American College of Sports Medicine's Position Stand on Exercise and Fluid Replacement states that fluid needs to be cooler than ambient temperature, meaning between 59 – 72°F. Colder fluids leave the stomach more quickly than warmer ones, allowing faster rehydration. During hot weather, when we tend to lose extra fluids, beverages in this temperature range will have a cooling effect on the body. Drinking cool beverages can help to cool us from the inside.

Well drinking water everyday in good quantity is essential for our health and body. The water must be clean and well-boiled as well as filtrated. one should not drink a water straight bought from tap or any mean source. well i guess drinking water does not gets you to catch cold, drinking hot water does not only makes you safe from cold you should also keep yourself very warm. you should not get out at cold time, just have a nice hot tea, coffee anything that keeps you hot and warm. but don't drink anything cold after that, because it affects you. Juice are obviously served at cold temperature, so i suggest you to drink some hot coffee, chocolate coffee, etc. all the best

Well, I will say that I drink lots of water every day. I guess you may be having that reaction because you are not used to drink only plain water, and your body may be "rejecting" it. Well, you may want to add some lemon to your water, and see if it's better. I often see restaurants adding lemon to the water and I thought it tastes a bit different. I think if you maintain and continue drinking plain water, and keep on telling yourself that it's not cold, you may eventually feel better. Do keep a positive mindset and you will be able to overcome the hurdle. However, if you are still unable to do it, you then return back to drinking alternatives such as juices.
