I enjoy listening to stories that my maternal grandmother has told me. I don't remember her telling me many stories, but the few stories that she has told me, I enjoyed listening to the stories that she told me. I enjoy listening to stories that people tell me.

When I was a little girl, my grandmother used to tell me stories of her own childhood. I have used them many times when I write my own stories (I´m a writer in my native language). She told me incredible things: like when she went to a forest and saw a goblin laughing at her or about the parrot that know how to speak.
I don´t have such wonderful stories to tell my own grandchildren but I do the best I can: my stories are about my grandma and her goblin, about how I met granpa, About how their granpa was the Sun´s son. They love it.

I have never seen my grandfather. I remembered the stories of my grandmother. She was a very warm-heated woman. During that time, I always went to my grandmother home when the summer holiday was coming. My grandmother always told me that they went through the old hard days and I should cherish the good times and study hard. She thought if I studied hard, I would be a successful girl in the school. But now, she has passed for more than ten years. I really like to the old stories told by the grandmother.

Usually what I've heard from my grand parents are mostly about their life when they were a kid, that was when I was a kid. Most of it are which comparing those what they have before that's when I have known how life before was hard.
Reflecting on that kind of stories were a bit now touching in determining the best you have to do for your life that they did not even get when they were that so young.

I think it is really amazing to know about the way our grandmothers and grandfathers lived. They are really very sweet that they lived through such tough times and still enjoyed it. Their life was really simple and more focus was on the physical work unlike these days. Now we have to focus more on the mental work rather than the physical work.

I am a genealogist and one of the most valuable things you can write down are the stories your older people tell. Once those people die there I no way to get that information back. I tell everybody this because even if they are not interested in
this history someone someday will be. Blessings

I always listened to the stories of my grandparents. They from Europe and went to canada during ww2 to escape the concentration camps. Just not a safe place for a jewish family. Then they came to the usa when my mom was a baby. its important to listen to those who came before you, they can teach you a lot.

i remember what my grandmother said too. my grandmother was old, so she is a little long-winded and she always tell me one story much time. i think maybe she can't remember she had told me that, or she is fall deeply in her memory. all she said is that how hard they go on life in that time. they have not food to eat, so my grandmother go to plant something easy to grow, they eat sweet potato instead of rice, because the rice is need to change for other thing necessary like fabric to make clothing. except for the hard of life, the most she had told to me, is the relation with others, like somebody had discriminated against she and my father and his brothers, just because my grandmother's family is poor. or something warm her heart, like when the food is not enough to eat, someone lend her dans of rice. or when her farm tool is bad, someone lend her. all this is told from her, i listened more than 20years, everytime she is talking, i can feel is honor. because, we are rich now, at least much richer than that time.

hi, i was raised and grew up with my parents and olds beside me. Yeah it was a funny and memorable yet intriguing and unforgettable were their stories about their past. Sometimes when you listen to them you wish you were there in that situation. They were free to do what they want because everything was natural. Perfect in a sense that they could stand on their own. They tried to spent their childhood compare to our days now. It was interesting to hear from them that they ride on their own carabao no need to rent..hehehe...using gugu no chemicals content but natural! dependent on nature...it's nice!

It is great that you can share stories from grandparents. I believe grandparents and elders of the family are very important in our lives. I myself have not had the opportunity to know my grandparents do to events in my parents lives. So hold tight to the ones that are dear to you. You never know when they will be gone.
