I keep wondering if lilac's are in bloom yet , or if it's still too soon.
When I lived in Indiana I had lilac bushes right outside the bedroom window .
How I loved them and the scent of lilac's coming in my bedroom, and into the whole house . Since we have moved to Mexico I don't see lilacs anywhere .
It would be such a joy just to have a bouquet of them once again.
Do you also love lilacs? Do you have any ? Have they bloomed yet or is it still too early ?

Oh I really miss them too. Both of my grandmothers had lots of bushes in their yards and they just smell heavenly. At my home in the states I had a hedgerow of them, the whole backyard smelled so.....good. I also miss dafodils, the harbingers of spring!

I love the smell of lilacs! Here, they are in bloom all around, but I don't have any bushes of my own yet. I did, at one time, but I had to move before I ever got to enjoy them.
Since I don't have any of my own, I just enjoy those that I smell while we are out and about each day.

Here in the midwest they are blooming. I love the smell. We used to have some but the bush wasn't doing so well so we had to cut them down. My neighbor had probably 20 of them or more (as he used them as a privacy fence in his yard) then the couple that bought the property cut ALL of them but 1 down. He claims he's "allergic" but then why did he just leave the one??? I miss them so much especially since it blocked our view of the road and now exposes our yard to views from a high traffic road..

Hi 3Snugglebunnies , How sad, to have all of them cut down! I would be rather
upset by that . I'm sure you do miss all of them and the privacy they gave you
Thank you for responding , and have a real nice evening

Ours are in full bloom right now. They look and smell terrific. One of my responsibilities growing up was to take care of my parents lilacs. They had a lot of them, three different colours. All the pruning and the clipping took a bit of the shine off of them for me. I like them but I'd rather not have too many of them. Right now we have one big healthy bush and that is it.
