How do I know when I have fallen in love?

I have a a male friend since high school who accompanies me to the library, lunch or movies sometimes but we have never held hands nor kissed and since he used to be seen with me most of the time, it was taken for granted that he shall be my husband some day. I just went along and accept this arrangement because I don't know if that is love or obligation or fate. How will I know if this is love?

Thank you for your response Kimmy and sorry for the late reply. I was involved in an accident and has been hospitalised for a while. My reply to you is, I don't feel anything when I see him. Its just empty.

You miss him badly if you are not with him. That is a sign that you love him. why dont you ask him if he loves you?

You will know its love when:
1. when your apart you will long to see him again
2. you will find yourself ringing him just so he can hear his voice
3. when you see him it will feel as if your heart as melted
4. all that will matter to is you is to make sure this person is happy
But i can tell that from you asking this question you already know the answer and you dont love him!

Thank you for your response baysmummy and sorry for the late reply. I was involved in an automobil accident and was hospitalised. Answers to your question -No I don't know but you were right - I don't miss him nor long for him cos I don't know how I should feel.

Im new here. i just went by Ur profile and came across this. Recently my love crashed because of very silly reason. I know this question was posted two years back, but even then why i feel to reply to this is because i want to empty my heart somewhere. Look love is really special. If that guy is for u, then surely you cant change anything he is for u only whatever happens, even if the sky falls and tigers eat carrot, that guy is for you only. If he is not for you, then im sad to say even if he is the only guy who suits you the best you wont get him. Don't take it negative. whatever it is don't ever believe adore or worship anyone too much that when they leave you, you will become a heap of trash. I cant bear my feelings, but what to do? I have very nice and best mum n dad. I cant leave them aloof like her. There is no mistake in her even. Its fate, that's all no one else to blame.
Sorry for troubling u. Its been two years. Whats your condition now?
