My husband wants to go on a vacation this summer and we have a 6 year old granddaughter that we will be taking on vacation with us this summer. We are trying to find out what places would be good to take our granddaughter on vacation. We took her to Disney World last year so we just trying to find out what other exciting places there is to take her to. What are some places that we could take our granddaughter to for vacation this summer?

Sharing a good vacation site with someone is a difficult task. I do not know your particular likes or dislikes. We are big nature buffs, so we always like to spend time with our children in a natural setting. If you like nature there are many places to see. there is always the Grand Cayon, or Old Faithful or the Redwoods... just for starters. It depends on how far you'd like to travel and your budget as well. You could pick a certain state and research different points of interest to tour in that state.
That's just a couple of thoughts... to get you started and if you don't like the suggestions.. :) At least you eliminated a couple of places! :)

We have decided to not go on vacation this summer because of lack of money. I keep asking my husband how are we going on vacation when we do not have any money. My gd is going to the Y for summer camp for 3 weeks this summer. She will have vacation bible school for 1 week. Another week she will have sports/art camp at our church. Then for 3 weeks she will be doing a reading camp through the community storehouse here in our city that was recommended by the school counselor. I Think she will only have maybe 3 weeks of not having anything to do this summer. So, she will have a fun summer after all.

For you,i will recommend to you to go with kid and enroll him in a summer workshop, like singing, dancing, swimming, acting, etc, and go to amusement park to explore his/ her wants to learn, his or her age has the ability to learn and enhance it,if ever he\she are gong to school she\he has already a knowledge he\she can teach or play with other children what he\she learn about his/her experience.

She is already going to some summer camps and also a week of vacation bible school. But, my husband wants to go on a real vacation and go somewhere and get away from the area.

Hi
I think the beach is always a good idea. It is a vacation place for both adults and children. You and your husband can both lie under the sun and listen to the waves which can be very relaxing. Your granddaughter may also enjoy the water, feeling the sand on her feet and picking up sea shells.
Wherever you decide to go, enjoy and take care!

Thanks for the suggestion. We never think about the beaches even though there are 2 nice beaches in Texas one in Galveston & the other one at Corpus and even Padre Island. The reason is my husband can not stay out in the sun very long or he will be toasted.

I would recommend amusement parks, aquariums, beaches, and zoos! I don't know a lot about amusement parks because I'm not a huge fan of them. I know in Florida there is Bush Gardens. Right near there you also have Sea World which is pretty cool! I know aquariums and zoos are fun too. And the beach! Good luck! I hope you find the perfect vacation destination.

We love amusement parks. Our favorite is of course Disney and we have been to Sea World on several occasions the one in Texas that is. My granddaughter does love the zoo also and we take her to the one here in our town.
