How many of you like food cooked at home? Many people like food cooked at home but they do not cook. Do you cook? what is the usual dish cooked in your country? Like for me I enjoy eating anything made at home. Even when I am on a tour, I love local food not the fast food or packed ones. In India, people usually eat Roti, rice, pulses, vegetables and milk. Non vegetarians too like these food items on a daily basis and consume nonveg items at times. Tell me about your preferences.

I do not mind home cooked food but I'd definitely prefer food that is made at home that does not just come in a box and is prepared from the box. I'd like other things put into the food from home and the food prepared lovingly, not just thrown together because the family needs to eat. That really bugs the heck out of me. Now, I don't mind eating at restaurants either. That does not bother me in the least bit. However, I don't want to spend all of my time eating out either. I'd like to eat out at some times and eat in during others.

Yep, I do... And I especially love eating native delicacies such as beef steak, pork adobo, sweet & sour fish... etc. however, I don't know how to cook and I stay in my apartment during the weekdays and rarely go home to our house. The only dish I know how to cook is pasta and omelets. With the pasta, the only sauce I know to cook is red (italian herb) and white sauce (basil & bacon). Then I just try any noodle that tickles my fancy for that day. Sigh! I love eating. but really don't succeed much in cooking. Oh well, one burger for take out please...

I love home cooked foods, because it's cheaper than eating out, and off course it's healthier. I usually cook rice, with vegetables, and fish. Sometimes I make sandwich for breakfast too.

I like home cooked food better than bought ready food. It simply tastes much better and it is much cheaper to make. Not to mention that the fast food is not good for your health. At least when you eat at home, you know exactly what you put in your meals. One time I watched a show about restaurants and they showed the behind the scenes that we don't see : they drop something on the ground, they just take it back and put it on the plate, others go to the bathroom and they don't wash their hands before handling your food, etc. That's pretty scary.

I love food at home better than outside food. First, out side food are not clean and expensive. Second, I waste time to go out to get. Third, I wouldn't enjoy as long as I want. Only sometimes with friends, then I will go out. Mostly, I have food cook at home. I do know how to cook and I love cooking too. My favorite dishes are, sweet and sour soup, fried rice, Vegetable (stir fried or steam), steam fish with soy sauce, and sweet and sour fish... all my favorite. Mostly, I eat Rice for lunch and Dinner. My food calls (Cambodian/Chinese food)

Hey I like homecooked meals . Nothing like a good pasta or chicken meal with a huge salad . Eating out and getting take out food really does add up . I wanna save as much as I can so cooking always is better here for me , or we go to my parents for a nice meal . Also, when watching your weight its better to cook for yourself because you know what goes into the meal and how many cals it will be , or how much salt to put in . Last week i made a huge mexican meal and eating out would of had so much more fat and cals .

I like home cooked food because it is more nutritious. I prefer boiled and steamed food rather than fried foods. I cooked food at homes and sometimes brought it in the office at lunch time.

I never understood those people that travel halfway across the world to a foreign country and then go to the nearest McDonalds for lunch! Why?? Part of the experience is sampling the local cuisine! So what if you don't like it? Just try it and then you will know. And try a bunch of different things. Try things you wouldn't normally think of eating. Who knows, it may be good! I LOVE home-cooked meals. I like to cook and will cook for myself most nights. I NEVER do the TV dinners you buy in the frozen foods section of the grocery store, and I rarely do fast food. I like ethnic cuisine, with Asian food being my favorite. Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese...I love it all! I'm definitely NOT a vegetarian, as humans are omnivores and require both plant nutriets and animal fats and proteins in order to be completely balanced. I rarely fry anything, but I saute and bake a lot. Ok, now I'm hungry!

It depends. Some home cooked food I like and some I do not like. I like home cooked lasagna, but I have had some food that was home cooked and it was horrible. So in those cases, I prefer to go out to eat. I make a lot of spaghetti with tomato sauce, but usually the tomato sauce is bought as I am not that good at making the sauce. I also like spaghetti with meatballs, and I like chicken pieces, lots of vegetables and salads. I do not like fast food, I would rather go to a restaurant.

Yes I like home cooked food. But some times I feel that it tastes the same and for a change I go to restaurants and have more spicy food. I think home cooked food is better for our health because there are less spice and oil. I also love to cook. Not every day but yes some times. I cook chilly chicken, momo, and other chicken recipes. When ever we friend have a picnic then I used to cook there and all are very much happy with my cooking.

i do... i love home cooked food. and yes i cook. usual dishes here are adobo, kaldereta, kare-kare, kilawin, lechon, tinolang manok, sinigang, and those with coconut milk. those dishes that i had listed are a favorite of ours. here in our country, different provinces have their own specialty, that's why there are lots of dishes here that you can try. rice is also a part of every meal here.

Hi there, Well YES! i love home cooked food. Especially if it is done by my mother. I think we all know that our mum cook the best. especially with all the love and care she puts in as well. no one can resist the blessed home cooked food. Well in terms of prefferences. i am fine with anything that is dones at home. afterall its either you cook it or some else makes it for you. therefore i dont really have a prefference for food. I just love home made food comapared to the ones we get outside. best regards, alvingb

This is actually interesting as I was having this discussion with my very own family. I love a home cooked meal. I had brought up some valid points such as it is cheaper eating at home, nothing beats a home cooked meal that is made with love and most importantly one knows the ingredients that is put into making the meal versus when you eat out you are not sure what what ingredients are used and if it's fresh or whatnot. My favorite food it pasta, salads and mixed veggies with thin-sliced chicken. These are not only healthy but with fresh ingredients it can great tasting. What also has made me eat at home is that I have a food allergy, I am allergic to most types of cheeses and get sick eating regular dairy products. So with a strict diet, what best but to eat at home.
