Saying goodbye to our soldiers...

Is it easier the second time you say goodbye to your significant other or is it harder?

When we were married my ex-husband would deploy all the time. It did get easier, to the point where it became almost routine to us. I find that you don't miss the person as much either because you learn to fill your days and have your own life seperate from them.

Wow, well... I have said goodbye more than 3 times... And it still is hard... Because for me each time they leave to go out there up's their chances of something horrible happening to them! I find ways to fill my time, but I never stop worrying

I don't know about this for sure...but I am getting ready to say goodbye for the second time.. for an actual deployment that is... and I am thinking it is going to be harder this time around than it was the first time. Don't know if it's true for everyone though!
