any tips to prolong the longievity of my false tooth???

as most of you know, i lost my front tooth(one)while playing with my son,now i have a articial tooth but i love to eat salads which i think the articial tooth wont be able to handle ,being the front tooth,i cant eat from one side.the doctor said i have to be careful as it cannot take much weight,depending on how careful i am,the doc gave a guareentee of 1-3 yrs,so how do you suggest to take care of my teeth??

Do just as he said to do....don't bite into hard things.....cut them up if needed like an apple....

Get a tooth implant Riya.It is as good or better than the real ones.You must be knowing better than me as a doctor in this matter.

i did get a tooth implant.the treatment is a bit a bit expensive,it costs rs 6000.

i do find it to be good,medicine has advanced like anything nowadays,i need to be extracareful.

I don't know why the tooth wouldn't handle salads. Unless you were biting down on large chunks of chicken or crunchy croutons with your front teeth. Just make sure you don't do this. I'm thinking that what the dentist doesn't want you doing is biting corn on the cob, or a sandwich that had a large hunk of meat in it. Also, don't eat chewy candies and avoid gum. Both of these will pull out the false tooth if you aren't careful.

I did not know there would be problems eating salads with false teeth. I though the only problem would be with chicken and bones. No problem with the chicken....you could always pass in on here. Sorry cannot help you with suggestions on looking after the teeth.

i like to chew on carrots and i suppose it might not be good for false teeth,i also like some mukhwas and sometimes i think it may not be good for my teeth.

Hi Riya, my hubby has front 4 false tooth which he had lost in a car accident. As such, dentist didn't give him any suggestions for taking care of those teeth, and hubby also never paid any heed to it.
