Do you wake up early in the Morning?

India

I don't. I feel like sleeping for more time during the early hours , say at least until 8.00 or 9.00 in the morning. But My parents always keep telling me that waking early in the morning , about 5 or 6 enhances your mind and keeps you active the whole day. what do you think? do you wake up early or do you get good sleep during the early hours which makes you to get up late from bed?

Well before i do wake up early in the morning around 4:30 or 5 am, at first you really feel stll sleepy but actually it feels refreshing and looks like you feel so energetic unlike when i wake up late i feel so weak and lazy to move and my head feels heavy. I think it's healthy to sleep early and wake up early.

I agree with your parents. I waken up between 4 and 5 am every morning and occasionally take a power nap about 2 pm. If I sleep any later or longer than 6 hours I feel groggy all day. I am full of energy and get all my daily housework done before it is light outside. Even before I retired I was in work by 6 am got my best work done before the rest of the staff arrived.

Early rising by 6am is no doubt a good habit for mental as well as physical health, as put up by your parents. But the thing is that this early rising is severely affected by late sleeping at night. Whatever time you rise, you must have to sleep for at least six hours at night. For my case, I become late upto 2am at night for my surfing and online activities regularly. So I wake up around 8am. I now plan to change this schedule and shift my work to morning hours, by rising up at 5-30am. This will have agood working effect perhaps! Thanks Gayathri for this nice topic and have a nice day!!

Yeah I agree with your statement, we must have sufficient amount of sleep whether we wake up early or late. it is good to make it a habit to wake up early taking care to sleep for 7 hours of sleep at least. thanks for your response and all the very best.

Each person has their own internal clock. It is posible to reprogram it, but it takes practice and a lot of work to change it. If you are going to work a day job you will have to eventually reprogram your internal clock to work on an earlier wake schedule. But if you choose a job where you can work evenings or mids then you are in luck and sleep the way you always have. Good luck! shalom~Adoniah

On weekdays, I always get up early around seven in the morning. I wake up early because I have to and I have no choice because of work. But during weekends, I always sleep until noon. I like sleeping late and waking late better than sleeping early and waking early. I am a night person.

Hello, young woman let joint your topic : yes of course I usually wake up before 6 in the morning even if we were ih holiday. according to our parents and ancestor this will be good wake up early, you will have good fate and good earning every day (I believe it because in farming society you can work more while the sun is still sleeping so that you will save your energy more and also "time is money " principle, the more we take advantadge our time we will got more at least we have much more opportunities) And now days waking in the morning will good for our health because there will be good and fresh air, see that todays era much big cities is poluted severely, I think India / New Delhi also. I dont know if this concept the same with four season area like Europe ... thanks for your interesting topic, see you again. by the way you are very pretty, but unfortunately I already 56 years of age hehehe..

I've never been a morning person. I have tried going to bed early so I can get up early, but I end up feeling more tired. I usually stay up until two in the morning or so. I do more late at night. I keep setting my alarms so I can get up early and exercise, but I end up feeling so tired that I don't get up until the last possible minute. I work best when I exercise when I get home from work in the evening, then stay up later doing work or other things.

I hate waking up early. I always have and always will. I'm a night owl and if I had my way, I'd sleep until noon and stay up until 4 AM every day. I'm a mom though and have to be up early. No choice in the matter now. But, when she's old enough, I'll be doing what I love to do. I still stay up late most of the time but have to force myself to wake up for her. I can't wait for school to be over for the summer, so we can both stay up later and sleep in a bit, but it still won't be like I want.

waking up early morning keeps us active according to what our elders believe, but then, I feel that it is all in our mind whether to be active or not regardless of when we wake up. Its very hard for me to wake up early morning and that too at 4.00 or so. Thanks for your response.

ShawnsBidness, it's funny how different we all are! I am definitely a morning person and I do my best work early in the morning. I had to smile while reading your response where you said that if you could you would stay up until 4.00 am; that's the time I get up every day!

I am one of those disgusting morning people I am afraid! Am always up bright and early and jump right out of bed and get moving. Always have been that way... rest of my family would sleep all day if someone didn't push them and get them moving. I also go to bed very late.

When you wake up early in the morning lets say 6:30, you got plenty of time to do the stuff even if u slept for 7-8 hours. If you used to wake up at 8 or later, then you might always be in a hurry of maybe going to university or work and might get late... thanks for your response.

In winter season I was the first to get up at 5 in the morning but these days my mum is beating me by getting up a little earlier than I. I use to do mylot from 5 to 8 in the morning.

I agree with your parents that getting up early enhances your mind and keeps you active all day. I get up around 4:00 a.m. every morning. I Love the peace and quiet so I can concentrate on what I am doing with no interruptions and I am so much more productive. By the time you get up at 9:00 in the morning, say for instance, I have already almost completed my work day and if I choose I can take the rest of the day off. I Never do, in fact, I usually work from 4:00 in the morning until about 11:00 at night non stop except for meals but I know if I did not get an early start then I could never work that amount of hours, so yes, it keeps me active all day and makes me very good money on top of it.

Yeah what you said is absolutely true... When you wake up early in the morning, you stay fresh for the rest of the day. It is said that morning is the most productive time of the day because when you wake up early morning, your mind is fresh and it works better.

That is what I always find. I know when I am fresh I can get so much more done. As it gets later on in the day or evening I slow down and loose my concentration considerably. I also find that the later I stay in bed the more lazy I become and have a hard time getting anything productive done! Hope it helps!

I always wake up at about 7 o'clock by myself without any clock alerts or help by my parents. I was used to geting up at 7 o'clock when I was still a student, most people had not went out so it's silent outside, I prepared my book and went out, the air is clean and the mood is also relaxed, I enjoined it and the memory is really very good.

Hello gayathrigs, I am actually a morning person. Most of the time I don't need an alarm clock unless there is something I will need to be doing so I set my clock jus to be sure I don't over sleep. I usually wake at 6:30 AM without any help. Two days a week I start my day and get my work done by noon. The days I don't work early I start about 9:00 AM and finish by 2:30 PM but I have woke about 7:00 and relax before I have to work at 9.

I wake up early...I am an early bird. I do find it is better for me, I am much more active even if I went to bed too late. But seven or eight is still pretty early for me. Not compared to my other friends though...some of my friends don't wake up until noon or later and they only go to bed one or two hours later than me. I don't need a lot of sleep but i don't know how someone wakes up that late! I would feel my day is wasted.

with regards to making the mind sharper if one wakes up early i think that depends. it's a fact already that different people have different productivity hours. i'm a morning person and i can do more and am more productively efficient if i wake up early. however, there are people like my husband who wakes up late since he can do a lot more work if he stays up late at night. and he's always been productive that way.

I normally get to bed about 4 or 5am, so I often dont get up until about 10am. However, a lot of that is because I talk to people across the world and work as the admin on a couple websites that are based in Europe, so it makes sense to be awake later at night and sleep some in the morning hours here. In general, though, I'm just fairly nocturnal and would probably keep the same schedule even if I didnt have work.

I wake up early in the morning if I have a duty in the office. If its day off for me I will wake up late. I refill those busy days that dont have enough sleep to keep energy for the next day. It is nice to wake up early so that you can prepare all the things needed to go to work. And not affected of the heavy traffic.
