How Do You Add Smilies To Discussions?

I'm not new to myLot but haven't been on here in a long time. I see people adding smilies and emoticons to their discussions. I'm addicted to those things. How do you add them? Is it OK to do it or do you get points taken away for them? I like them because they add some fun to what you write. Do you think they're overused or do you like them too?

I am going to be the second person to say that you need 200 post points before you can use smilies. Keep posting away on other people's discussions and you will get your 200 quickly. I use them but not all the time. I think that they are . Sorry, I am teasing.

It will be activated for you when you reach 200 post at least. you will see a blue link as mylot code just beside the mylot editor, where you are typing. hope you get them soon.

I hope so too. I'd like to have half or even a quarter of your posts please. Any way you would share? ;) That's my last smilie for this discussion...for now. Unless someone else replies. Then I'll let them have it :) :) Oops I lied!
