Lonely Heart . . .

Well, I went on a quest to find a dog. I was looking for a 4 to 8 year old dog, housetrained and relatively well-behaved. No luck. I did, however, come across a beautiful Labrador Retriever (female, who you could tell had just had puppies) and when I went in to say hello to her, she was so excited! My heart and hers made a connection; she was beautiful. One of the prerequisites to owning a big dog was a fenced in backyard, which I don't have and in all honesty, she was just too big to fit in my small house. She reminde me so much of the yellow lab I lost just before moving here. When I left this beautiful dog at the rescue, she cried and cried and I felt like crying with her. Will I ever find a dog? I posted an ad on www.classifiedads.com outlining what I wanted, but so far no hits. My heart is just longing for the companionship and unconditional love of a dog. I've had three and know first hand how wonderful they are. In the meantime, I keep praying that the Lord will bring the right dog into my life and we'll live happily ever after!

Oh! I feel for you. I also know how it is to lose a beloved pet. They just bring in the greatest feeling of companionship and loyalty. Goodluck in your quest. May you find that one special dog who will give you much happiness.

Thanks so much for responding! I truly believe in my heart that God will send me the right dog and that dog and I will know in our hearts and souls that we belong together and I can give the dog a loving forever home. The Bible preaches patience; something I'm not blessed with all the time!!!

You're welcome. I know you will meet that dog someday.^_^ You just have to believe and keep your eyes and heart peeled. Who knows? That wonderful dog just might be around the corner.

Try looking at the pound instead of the animal rescue. There are plenty of dogs in need of loving homes. Sometimes you can find a trained older dog at the pounds. Maybe their owner gave them up or they got lost but if someone doesn't claim these dogs, they will most likely be destroyed. It is awful to think about how often these loving creatures are killed for no reason. It's great that you'd like to give one a home. Keep looking! You'll find the right one eventually.
