I am 50 years old and have many health problems; so many I've been put on disability. My biggest problem is that I have emphysema and asthma. I also have seizure disorder and blood clotting disorder and osteoporosis. I'm too young to have all these problems! Does anyone out there have any herbal remedies that might help some of these conditions? My mother passed away from empysema 3 years ago and her brother is near to dying with it (hospice comes everyday). Could this run in my family? I also suffer from debilitating back pain. In other words, I'm a mess. Anyone with some advice?

I'm so sorry to hear about your health problems. I am also chronically ill. I do use herbal methods as well as conventional. What I have learned is that what works for one doesn't always work for someone else.
That being said, my father has COPD (emphysema)as well as asthma. He found some relief from his breathing problems by drinking eucalyptus tea. There is a good one that you can find at health food stores called "Breathe Easy". It helped him to cough up the never ending phlegm!
He also did a controversial treatment, intravenous hydrogen peroxide. If you are interested in finding out more, you can do a search on the Internet. You will find that some will claim that it is dangerous and not helpful. However, he has found this very helpful. He was getting pneumonia twice a year, but since he had this therapy he has only had mild bronchitis the past three years. He is now actually taking the peroxide orally (not the kind you find in the store...DO NOT TAKE THAT ORALLY!!) You have to get food grade hydrogen peroxide that you have to water down. You start with an extremely small amount and work your way up to an amount that helps you. It is best to do this with the help of a natural physician. You will have to find one that is up on this treatment.
May I ask, what kind of clotting disorder do you have? Do you have thick blood or does your blood not clot as it should?
As for the back pain, you can get a homeopathic cream called "Traumeel". This helps my back tremendously and it aids healing. It's an anti-inflammatory cream made from several herbs. As an alternative, arnica gel can also help. However, it is just treating symptoms. Do you know the cause of your back pain?
I herniated a disc about 20 years ago. I opted to not have surgery (back surgery really scares me!). I improved after a series of three epidural steroid injections. The swelling (herniation) went down. I have some slight nerve damage, but for the most part I'm ok except for occasional pain. Recently I hurt it again...(carrying in the groceries!!). I just finished a treatment called prolotherapy. It is not fun, but it did work. Faster than anything I have ever tried. It's relatively new, but I understand that there are clinical trials that prove that it works. You can read about it online, too.
Sorry, didn't mean to write a book!
Hope you feel better soon. Take gentle care of yourself!
