I also like playing volleyball. I think I started to play with it when I was like 10 years old and in primary school. Its one of the major sports and my brother also likes to play with it so there are times that we play together either at home or in school.

Not anymore. I don't have playmates and I'm not good as before. But, if given a chance to play, why not. I badly missed that sport.

I learned in grade school and enjoyed it quite a bit. Greatest moment probably came in high school. I played in a very obscure church league and most people in high school thought I had virtually no knowledge of the game whatsoever. Our junior team needed someone to practice against tuning up for the league championship (which they won by the way). I was in an optional basketball practice at the time. Four of the guys with me had played on the senior team and were recruited along with our coach. They needed a sixth body to complete the team so they asked me. I lined up across from their lead striker and because of my size no one argued. They found out what my best skill was on the first play of the game. Text book bump set and spike. Only he ate the spike, I fed it to him.

Hmmmm... I was in Sixth grade when I joined varsity and learned to hit the ball. Since then, I become addicted to it and started to join varsities until I finished schooling. Until now I'm a big fan of volleyball. I love to see players in action.

For me, I was 18 years old. My ex-girlfriend was the star of the high school volleyball team and she got me interested. At the time, I was 6'2" but had a good jump so I was a decent front line player. She was the setter on her team so it was perfect. Over the years, I've learned to be a lot better rounded player due to conditioning and just to be better. My defenisve play is my strength now and I still have a wicked spike but being 45, I don't get off the floor as high as before.
It's a great sport and even better in the sand.

When I was in high school, they didn't allow us to play football indoors, so we had to choose between basketball and volleyball. I play basketball fairly well, but I just can't aim for that ring, so I chose to learn basketball. During my last year of high school I got selected for the high school volleyball representative and we played in a competition (we lost most of the matches, we weren't very good).
I got back to playing volleyball during my 4th year of college, when I won the 3rd place in the University's Mixed Volleyball Cup, a place I am very proud of (the 1st and 2nd place have been taken by teams made of the University's representative teams members).

I played when I was in grade 4 elementary school, then I stopped because I was not THAT good at it and only the "talented" kids were allowed to play :P I was still able to play volleyball in high school for fun and with friends.
I really like the sport. However, I seem to get some kind of rashes after playing. I think it's because of the dirt on the ball - sensitive skin much?
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Thank you too!!!
For rashes, I don't know, because I've never had something like those...
In my opinion or is for the dirty or is simply for your too sensitive skin, but I don't know.....

I also started around 7-9 years old. As far as I can remember it was during the intramurals (sports fest) in our school and I we were able to borrow some Mikasa balls that they are not using and I had fun. :D
