What did you want to be when you grew up and is that what you ended up being?

When I was little, I really wanted to be an actress, then a singer. I kept changing my mind as I grew older, and by the time I left school I hadn't got any idea what I wanted to be! I've often heard people say that they knew what they wanted to be right from an early age - like 'I wanted to be a doctor since I was 8 years old'. I've always wondered how people can know for sure what they wanted to be. How about you? Did you know, or did you keep changing your mind?

Lets see...
I wanted to be a stuntwoman. I wanted to be in rollerderby.
Then I wanted to be a hairstylist. Then I wanted to be a makeup artist.
Then I wanted to be a psychologist...and interior designer.
What did I end up becoming? A stay at home mom.
My work history...A cashier...A billing clerk...an accounts receivable clerk...stay at home mom...an administrative assistant (secretary)....stay at home mom...Realtor...and administrative assistant (second time)...and once again, a stay at home mom. I will probably try to get a part time job again next year.
I guess some of my duties as a stay at home mom include some of the things I wanted to be as a child...hairstylist, makeup artist, psychologist.

I often think that being a stay at home mum qualifies you for a huge variety of jobs - it should be counted as a qualification!

I knew that I wanted to be a teacher all of my life. It's the only profession I ever really was interested in. I can remember being 5 or 6 years old and playing school. I always admired my teachers and watched them very closely. I would then come home and play school in the evenings. I had my own "pretend" class. I would make homework and tests for my kids and then do them myself and correct them. I loved to use stickers. All throughout elementary school I was always by my teacher's side wanting to help because I was so interested. I also use to go to younger classrooms and help children complete their work and do some practice reading n such.
So pretty much all of my life I wanted to be a teacher. There was a year or two of my life that I was interested in meteorology ,but that was short lived. I attended a 4 year college, right after high school, and earned my degree in Elementary Education. I'm currently teaching Pre-Kindergarten and love it. :-) I'm truly living my dream!

My mum used to be a teacher, and if my holidays were longer than hers I used to go in and help. Then when my daughter was little, I used to help run the playgroup, so I know what a joy it can be to work with small children. I wouldn't have the energy for it now though!

When I was 4 years old, I wanted to be a teacher. I kept this ideal in mind as I grew older. By the time I must choose which college I would go to, I chose to be a enterpriser in the future. However, I faild in the entrance exam. So, I changed my future career. Now, I want to be a teacher in the college.
